SILKSONG IS REALLLLLLLLLL

(No spoilers!)
Seriously though I can't wait to keep diving in and get further along. Already I'm just completely enraptured in the same way I was with the first game. This is exactly would every sequel should aspire to be. It's in-depth, it builds upon the first one in so many different ways from the vibes, to the mechanics, to the music and art. Oh my GOD the music is incredible. The first already has some of my all time favorite soundtracks and so far Silksong is giving it a run for its money.

- The movement is already SO delicious and weird and I only have like the first ability or 2. It's really unconventional and is taking me a bit to get into the swing of but once I do, I know I'm gonna be unstoppable with it.
- This game's TOUGH and I love it. The first one ain't a walk in the park but this is gonna be brutal haha. It really changes where it punishes you though and I'm very much happy with those changes so far. I've found that benches seem to be a lot more frequent, but you're definitely more fragile so it's an even trade.
- Me when I have a voice to cry suffering??

Thank you to everyone at Team Cherry for sticking through it despite the setbacks and criticism. You guys have made another unforgettable experience and I can't wait to explore every corner of it. <333

Cheers everyone!! Enjoy the game, we've been waiting for this!!

One of the most fun games I've played in a long time. The humor is great, the combat is great, the sound design is great, it looks great, just fantastic overall! The guns feel really powerful and punchy and rewarding. The feeling you get while there are lasers flying at you, explosions going off everywhere, bullets flying at them, while you're spraying whatever you've got is something to behold.

For Super Earth!

I have only just begun this game, but I can already say that it has become one of my favorites. It is incredibly atmospheric and feels so in depth. The isolation is broken only by the enemies you face and the echoes of the past scattered throughout the world, and it's truly immersive.

Admittedly, it's not all perfect. Some of the controls (coming from an Index user) and mechanics are a tad janky and aren't the smoothest of experiences. However, they're not the worst thing ever and can be overlooked.

That being said, I do highly recommend you tweak and adjust the controls to your liking. I've changed the trigger mechanics, thumbstick mechanics, and made small adjustments to the buttons for the menu and such, and it vastly improved my experience.

This is overall a wonderful experience so far, and I can't wait to get further into it and to sink an ungodly amount of time into it.

[12.2 hours playtime update] One thing worth noting is that it is considerably slower paced than other VR titles, at least of ones that I've played. This is by no means a bad thing- I actually adore that about this game. Because of the way item/ammo management works (that being... you hold stuff, or you set it down. it's awesome), it's perfectly balanced between being realistic and fun. There's enough detail and nuance in the mechanics that you have to actually take them into special consideration. They take extra time and really bring that previously mentioned pace of play down, and it really makes me feel like [iI'm[/i] actually the one doing the surviving and exploring. It is seriously a delight.

Now that I've thrown a bit more time into it, I do want to reiterate the controls and graphics tweaking. Personally, I turned the graphics settings down to a mix of medium and low, but upscaled the resolution. This made the game look far smoother imo. It had this odd blur that make everything murky before, but doing that fixed it (and no, it wasn't steam vr resolution scaling, i have that set manually) and made everything vastly clearer.

Secondly, with the controls, if you're on an Index or have the knuckles controllers, it's a must. More elaboration on the changes I made: Changing the triggers to engage without having to click them, switching the sprint to activate when I press my right trackpad as opposed to my left thumbstick (accomplished using a chord. I don't like clicking the thumbsticks, they're notorius for being a failing point), changing the menu keybind to the left trackpad, and soon I'll try and fix the throwing/grabbing, as those are a little janky too. The previous 3 are the main concerns I had though, and I was happy to be able to fix them without too much trouble.

Forgot to mention it this whole time somehow, but to close out, the music is also beautifully haunting and really ties everything together. The entire feel and atmosphere of the game (including the music ofc) scratches a very specific and incredible itch that I didn't know was there, and now I feel like I can die happy.

One of the best games of all time. It is masterfully crafted, through and through, and follows an incredibly unique premise that is continually expanded upon despite feeling like it couldn't possibly be added to any further. Emotionally impactful, gorgeous, thought-provoking- I could go on for hours.

Buy the game, and AVOID ANY AND ALL CONTENT ABOUT IT as it can be spoiled very easily.
