I saw the post you sent. While it's interesting that people found a better arrangement for the tracks to create a more fluid auditory experience; anyone who thinks Tool's Lateralus album as whole has some intentional relation to the Fibonacci sequence is looking too hard. Especially anyone who states that Tool has a grandmaster plan for the sequence of albums they've released are have yet to release. Maynard states that looking back on his lyrics for Lateralus, he felt it was naive of him to force lyrics to follow the Fibonacci sequence, since at its essence, the Fibonacci sequence of numbers were derived by viewing nature through mathematical patterns. So in other words, forcing something which should come naturally; and does exist naturally in creations such as songs is counter intuitive. It is practically oxymoronic in the case of a song like Lateralus which is about the natural flow of creativity to force something already naturally occurring within it.

So while it is amicable endeavor to search for truth or higher meaning within these songs, finding any absolute answer or going too far down the rabbit whole kind of narrows the experience they originally intended by leaving their lyrics so open ended.
