Anti-cheat was supported on Steam Deck/Linux, and then they removed it because EA didn't want to spend a penny of their millions of dollars to invest in a better anti-cheat solution that doesn't alienate a portion of their playerbase.

This was one of those games that I had sitting in my library, I knew was universally loved, but it never clicked for me. I tried it a few times over the years, but for one reason or another it never quite stuck the way it did for some people.

I don't know what changed between now and then, maybe I'm just in a new stage of my life, but holy hell once I started during this new update (1.6), I just couldn't stop. The music, art, characters, gameplay, all come together so well. The save system (at the end of each day) makes the game incredibly addicting. If you've played civilization or other games where you go "just one more turn and then I'll stop", you'll know what I mean. There's so much to discover and explore. At the time of writing I'm 100 hours in, and I still don't think I've seen some major areas of the game (I've tried my best to avoid being spoiled on via the wiki). I'm excited to keep growing my farm, and seeing all the secrets, events, items, areas, characters, music... pretty much everything!

And honestly the best part about the game for me, is that it genuinely sparked an interest in a new hobby. After I grew hot peppers in the game, put them in a jar and saw it called "hot pepper jelly", I thought to myself, hey, wouldn't it be cool if I grew my own jalapenos and did the same thing? or even made my own hot sauce? Fast forward a few weeks, and now I have about ~10 small sprouts in little pots right now. I'm growing sunflowers, lavender, and of course, jalapeno peppers. The pace of growth isn't quite as fast as Stardew, but I love seeing how my plants are doing each day, and caring for them like I do in the game

The devs pour their heart and soul into this game, and it shows. I'm happy to support them; and also honestly kinda surprised they haven't done this sooner!
