pretty good one of these. doesn't overstay its welcome.

it has some really cool ideas and the presentation is mostly great but i don't like playing it currently. i think games like this only work if the computer does things that the player can mostly respond to, but even the weakest enemies can pretty consistently move so they can attack you every turn and "blocking" is something the starter character is lucky to be able to do at all after turn 1, so every fight is sort of a damage race, and healing is expensive and hard to come by. runs feel pretty samey so far and you have to do a lot of them to unlock new starting characters/cars. i really want to like it because the concept is great but right now i can't get into it

bummer launch, i think it'll be cool once immortal empires comes out but the base campaign doesn't do anything for me. can't recommend it yet, grab it on a sale in 6-12 months probably

august 22 update: immortal empires is pretty fun and i'm playing it a lot but i'm not sure i actually think its an improvement on wh2 other than the new factions. still not a fan of the new settlement battles, i wish i could toggle the game to wh2 rules but keep the new stuff. if you already own it its worth playing now but i'm not sure i can argue its worth buying when i don't think the clearest mechanical difference from the previous game is very good. if there was a "its okay" option i'd pick that.

good dlc, adds more buttons to press.
