Project: Snowblind is a 2005 cyberpunk FPS. While being relatively short (about 4 hours) it offers up an enjoyable single-player experience with solid gunplay and a decent story.

Story:
The story is fairly generic for a futuristic shooter. Two big factions hate each other. They fight with super-soldiers, mechs, plasma guns, etc. Pretty regular stuff for a mid-2000's future shooter.

Presentation:
While the story is fairly average, the characters have unique personalities and are all voice acted extremely well. Overall, the game has a really solid sound design. Weapons are punchy, environmental effects are decent, and the ambient soundscape in levels can be actually quite soothing in some of the games slower moments.

The real show-stealers, however, are the game's cutscenes. For a 2005 game, they are way ahead of their time in terms of quality and cinematography.

Gameplay:
Project: Snowblind's gameplay starts out mediocre and eventually rises to being fairly above average. There are a lot of different guns that are all fun to use and sound great. Enemies are varied and never feel cheap as they all have distinguishable strengths and weaknesses.

The real stars of the show, however, are the game's augments. These allow the player to do a variety of things that spice up combat. They include: cloaking, seeing enemies through walls, bullet-time, and becoming temporarily invulnerable. These allow you to both counter certain enemies effectively and change-up how you handle each battle.

Controls:
The controls are fairly basic and are able to be rebound to fit your own playstyle. Movement in the game, however, can feel a bit slow and clunky. Your character seems to move at a mild jog and he tends to get stuck on objects or in entrances quite a bit (especially vents). However, you become used to these minor annoyances quickly and I do not see them as a major issue for most players.

Performance:
The game ran EXTREMELY well and I experienced only 1 crash in my playthrough. I would, however, recommend turning off fullscreen effects and keeping texture filtering on trilinear. Otherwise, the game appears super blurry and washed out (this may have been just unique to my monitor and setup, but it could be something to watch for).

Misc Cons:
Overall, I really liked this game. The only other thing I would potentially warn you about is (especially if you are a PC elitist such as myself, haha) that this game is clearly a console first shooter. Enemies are bullet-spongy, your aiming reticule is huge, levels are short, and there are no quicksaves, only manual save stations.

Final Thoughts:
Project: Snowblind has its issues but if you like 2000's era shooters or just FPS' in general, I would highly recommend this game. It's short, sweet, tells a good story, and will provide you with a few hours of solid shooting.

And considering you can buy it during most sales for less than $1, I would say it's a no-brainer.

Final Score: 7/10, Good

I highly recommend this game to anyone interested in RTS games, WWII games, or both.

Gameplay: Incredibly solid. I do not play a ton of RTS games but I have a few under my belt (Star Wars: Empire at War, Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, and Warcraft III) so I know what I like in them. This is hands down my favorite of the bunch. The factions all feel and play differently while maintaining game balance (mostly).

Complexity: CoH, in my opinion, falls in the middle of the scale when it comes to RTS complexity. It's more advanced than something like SW: Galactic Battlegrounds or Warcraft III but nowhere near something like Men of War. I would say its on par if not slightly more advanced than SW: Empire at War.

There is a bit of a learning curve (as to be expected with these games) but the UI is crisp and as you learn more the game becomes fairly streamlined and simple. You'll pretty much have the basics down within 3-4 hours I would say.

Presentation: Amazing. Flawless. I can't overstate how much I love the battles, unit chatter, sound effects, environmental destruction, and brutality in this game. It's one of those few games that really nails the true destructive force of war.

Music: Solid but nothing amazing. Does what it needs to do and will most likely just be overpowered by the sounds of battle anyway.

Story: Meh. It's there. Nothing special but that's to be expected. The various campaigns each follow certain characters but they are only seen in cutscenes. The real "characters" are the battles and events that the campaigns each focus on (D-Day, Operation Market Garden, Battle of Caen, etc.)

Graphics: I must say. For a 13 year old game (at the time of writing), CoH looks absolutely breathtaking. The cutscenes are fairly janky but the actual game itself looks like it could have come out a few years ago.

Length: The six campaigns that form the games single-player will provide a great deal of content for you. Took me about 40 hours to get through them all on Normal difficulty and that was without going for all of the bonus objectives. The game also features both custom skirmish games as well as a multiplayer suite that can keep you occupied for even longer.

Conclusion: I recommend this game to anyone looking for a either a solid strategy game or WWII simulator.

Final Verdict: 9/10, Amazing

A must-have for any Attack on Titan fan. This game captures the essence of the anime/manga beautifully! The atmosphere is unbeatable and it really feels like you are playing the show.

PROS
Great atmosphere comprised of anime-like visuals and a superb acting job by the series' original Japanese voice actors
Satisfying, frantic combat
Well-paced difficulty spike
Lots of weapons and gear to craft
Movement with the 3DMG is just brilliant
Lots of single-player and multiplayer levels
Tons of replayability

THINGS TO BE AWARE OF
Hack and Slash combat may be tedious for some
Requires a good deal of grinding levels and farming materials
MUST PLAY WITH A CONTROLLER

*NOTE: If you are not a fan of grinding/farming and/or hack and slash gameplay, this game will do little to change your mind.*

CONS
Fairly common model clipping through environments and other models (mostly funny, but can be annoying at times)
Game may need some minor fine-tuning intitally to get it working properly
Original score (while the music isn't bad by any means, it is not the soundtrack from the show which is disappointing)

OVERALL 7/10, Good

I highly recommend this game. That being said, I would wait to purchase it on sale for $30. Or spend your $60 on Attack on Titan 2 which looks like it will not only fix the few problems with this game but also offer twice the content.

This game is a hot mess. Going into it, I was excited as I had heard really great things about it and FPS games from the late 90's, early 2000's generally hold up very well even today. That cannot be said for RtCW.

PROS:
First of all, there are a few things that this game does right. For instance, the graphics are top-notch for 2001. They are on par with the likes of Call of Duty 1 (2003).
Secondly, the level design is REALLY well done. There is the perfect blend of linear and arena style layouts. There are even some minor, MINOR puzzles at times that don't feel forced.
Variety of Enemies: There are a lot of well-designed enemy types that each have a range of strengths and weaknesses. They spice up the game and whenever the game starts to feel stale a new type is usually introduced.

Sadly, however, the negatives FAR outway the positives.

MINOR CONS:
Story: The story in this game is AWFUL. It is just bland. It does its job of getting you from Point A to B but thats it. Nothing to write home about.
Voice Acting: Holy crap. The voice acting is atrocious. I'm talking mainstream, late-night sitcom levels of cringe.

MAJOR CONS:
Movement: To say the movement in this game is herky jerky is an understatement. I realize that older arena-style FPS' such as Quake, Doom, and even the original Wolfenstein were meant to be fast. However, those games pulled it off. Now you don't move AS FAST in this game as those but the speed at which you do move can be annoying. For instance, it is damn near impossible to slowly sneak around corners, ladders are the devil, and on multiple occasions I took fall damage from simply WALKING DOWN STAIRS.

Enemy AI: Oh boy, OH BOY!!! Don't even get me started on the enemy AI. It is, to be blunt, unfair. Stealth is encouraged but made impossible by the fact that enemies are alerted to your presence for seemingly no reason. I once zoomed in on an enemy from about a mile away and he was alerted to me by SIMPLY ZOOMING IN WITH A SCOPE.
Also enemies will frequently aim-bot you as soon as you turn a corner and they are placed in a way where they will hide in alcoves frequently and only start shooting until you've run past them. Now, you will die a lot. And honestly, that's fine. Old FPS' with quick save are well known for being hard as nails and thats not a problem. However, when 50% of the time the deaths feel cheap, there is an issue.

Enemy Stagger: The infamous stagger. Generally in an FPS, when you shoot someone, they die. However, in RtCW, most of time any shot placed on an enemy (yes, even a headshot) will put them into a stagger animation. While in this animation, they take no damage and can sometimes (rarely) even shoot back at you. Its just annoying. And it can even lead to your death sometimes as you will shoot someone, think they are dead, only to have them kill you a second later because while you thought they were falling to the ground, they were really just staggering.

FINAL VERDICT: 3/10, Bad

Despite what I was told, there is nothing special about this game. It is not the "Last Great FPS" as people brand it. It doesn't do anything revolutionary. Wide-open maps and varying enemy types were in FPS games LONG before RtCW. This game is just mediocre. It is a bland, run-of-the-mill FPS that has only remained relevant due to nostalgia and it being a Wolfenstein game.

I can almost certainly guarantee that if this game didn't have the Wolfenstein branding, no one would be talking about it today.
