After 13 long years we finally got a sequel to the ultimate Space Marine experience and boy oh boooy it was worth the wait! Space Marine 2 is a solid, no-nonsense, old school TPS / hack'n'slash action game. It just simply feels good.

The good:

+ Gorgeous graphics. Character/creature models look great, levels look astoundingly well made (especially the skyboxes and backdrops). They have truly nailed the Warhammer aesthetic.
+ Fantastic sound design. You can feel the weight of a Space Marine on the move, the kick of a heavy bolter, the crunchy and gruesome sounds when you're ripping a Tyranid apart. Eargasm stuff.
+ Combat feels tight and flows really well. Seamlessly switching between shooting and melee, simple and easy to execute combos (Take notes Game Science!). Doom Eternal style executions. Nothing groundbreaking or innovative about the combat, nevertheless it's still pretty satisfying.

The bad:
To be honest I don't have anything bad to say about the game, only some nitpicks.

- As of right now the Operations mode (PvE co-op) is pretty barebones and doesn't have a lot of replay value besides small stat upgrades and skins.
- Multiplayer feels super unbalanced. Matchmaking throws you in with players that are already max level so you just get steamrolled.
- Minor bugs during the campaign.

Technically these are cons yes, but I'm writing this review based on my experience during early access, and the game officially released just a few hours ago. All of the issues I wrote above will be fixed and more content will be added (hopefully enough to flesh out the Operations even further) in the coming months.

Final score: For The Emperor / 10

The good:

+ Fantastic graphics and art direction. Game is truly a visual fiesta.
+ Runs surprisingly well despite being an Unreal Engine 5 game.
+ Mostly banger soundtrack.
+ Chinese voice acting is really good, English is passable.
+ Very impressive enemy variety.
+ Amazing boss fights and design. Some of them are infuriatingly difficult but overall the fights feel fun and challenging.

The bad:

- Incredibly basic and repetitive combat. You start the game by spamming X, you end the game by spamming X. That's right, you play the entire game with one combo. One. Single. Combo. WHERE ARE THE COMBOS GAME SCIENCE?!
- Bad level design. Levels are large and gives you the illusion of exploration but there are invisible walls everywhere so you spend your entire time trying to find the right path.
- Unless you're really familiar with ''Journey to the West'' the story doesn't make any sense at all.

Final Score: 7/10 (Shout-out to Ranton)

It's a good game, but just barely.

A fantastic game that can't reach it's true potential because of the extremely incompetent developers.

EDIT: As a result of Patch 1.001.100 I am changing it to positive. Keep patches like this coming Arrowhead!

Ever since it was released on PS4 I have waited for this game to be ported to PC, and it was so worth the wait. I can say with absolute certainty that this is one of the greatest video games I have ever had the pleasure of playing. It's simply a work of art. Kudos to Nixxes for an almost flawless port, and Sucker Punch for creating the best samurai experience in a video game format.

Never knew I needed a game like this in my life, now I can't live without it. The music alone is worth it, but the gameplay loop is also really satisfying and fun. If you love metal music and shooting stuff, think no further and get this game! If it wasn't for Elden Ring it would be my GOTY for sure.

Been waiting for this one on PC for so long. Quite literally the best Spider-Man experience you can ever have. 11/10 must play.

I've never played a Tales before, but Tales of Arise is truly an excellent jrpg. Visuals are fantastic, the whole game looks like a painting. Combat is really fun and dynamic, and there are plenty of moments that makes you feel like a badass (especially while doing mystic artes). OST is great, there are some banger tracks in there. And last but not least, the voice acting is amazing (I mean Ray Chase is in there, come on). So yeah, thumbs up.

Still the best Warhammer game ever made. They really need to make another one like this again, because there's no other 40k game out there that truly makes you feel like a Space Marine.

A+ character creator, environments look amazing and the setting is fantastic. Combat is very complex and satisfying. Game is brutal, but I enjoy the suffering. Until Elden Ring arrives, this will sate my soulsborne hunger.
