Wreckfest has come a long way, from long Early Access and complete game engine rework to finding a publisher and getting 1.0 out. Wreckfest to me hits that spot between arcade and simulation racing, and bending cars around trees or each other is also fun.

Absolute return to form when it comes to Devil May Cry -games. If you enjoyed DMC 1, 3 and 4 you will most likely feel at home with this game. The amount of pure gameplay joy this game offers is second to none, with gameplay mechanics layered on top of another between three characters that might only be rivaled by fighting games.

Graphically this game looks great, RE Engine seems to be another staple addition to AAA gaming, with RE2 remake and now DMC5. Be warned though, there seems to no option for widescreen.

Gameplay wise the game offers you so many tools. Between Nero's Devil Breakers and Exceed, Dante's weapons and styles and V's summons and their movelists there is so much to do and so much variety you can do in combat. Because of that, while the game is mostly corridor exploration with enemy encounters, I almost never felt bored. Because every enemy encounter was a chance to do more awesome stuff with each character to a decent cast of enemy variety. Everything oozes style, like the taunts that vary depending on your current Style Rank.

That being said, even if the game offers you (to many, an overwhelming amount) many things to incorporate into combat, if you don't care about Style Rankings, Human and Devil Hunter (mostly) difficulties are easy enough to stick to one or two combos with little to no variety.

With Nero, this could mean doing one or two combo's with some Devil Breakers into the mix. With Dante, you can play him like DMC 3 Dante, practicing one Style and getting good with it. V's gameplay can get very "spammy", and summoning Nightmare is almost a guarantee S - SSS ranking with group of enemies.

This doesn't matter that much in Son of Sparda and Dante Must Die difficulties, and to me those difficulties are why I play DMC games. That and being as stylish that I can be with using moves that are good for the situation and also using variety within the mechanics.

Story wise this is pure DMC fanservice. Lorewise, the game offers definite answers and closure to the sons of Sparda story. It can get cheesy and sometimes you might roll your eyes, but that didn't bother me with any of the previous games either.

-- TLDR --
Great end to the sons of Sparda story, with gameplay so deep it will keep you invested for hours to come (Void practice, Bloody Palace). My PC GOTY for 2019.
