Okay so l used to call Ampreet daddy (not gay) (story time). We hang out a lot, regular bro stuff like fancy dinners where he pays (thanks to his IT money) - totally not gay, just vibing. It’s pathetic I am even spending my time on this. I’m in my early 30s, working for FAANG in software engineering making over 500k annually and yet I still have spent every day of the past month playing smash for 8 hours straight after work and falling asleep at 3AM feeling like a failure, barely able to fall asleep because I am so pissed off. I should have better things to do with my adult life instead of being on the verge of tears over this damn game. Like many people, I'm disgusted with people who prey on the innocent. There's been a lot of discussion recently about age gap relationships, especially where an older man is dating a younger woman. In all of these situaltions the younger person is of age, meaing they are 18 years old or older. However someone over a decade older than the 18 year old dating that person is enought to make people feel uncomfortable and bring for accusations of exploitation due to the power that inherent in being the older more experienced person in a relationship. It's especially looked down upon if you know a person before they are 18 and wait until they are legal to make a move romantically. This brings accusations of grooming. Therefore, it is obvious that 18 being the age of consent is too close to the line of innocence. 18 is an arbitrary number. Some states have

the age of consent as 16 or younger. If there's no reason behind that age then there can be nothing close to a consensus. That's where the age of 26 comes in. Science has shown that parts of the brain are not fully formed until 26 years old. This would explain some of the rash decisions youths are responsible for and highlights why people think that can be taken advantage by an older party. If a 40 year old knows someone at 23 and waits until they are 26 to date them it doesn't seem as upsetting because they are scientifically fully formed cognitively and have lived a quarter of their life experiencing things withing their age group
