Fun to play, gorgeous art direction, and full of vibrant characters. A few technical issues here and there, but definitely well worth your time.

Looks gorgeous, fun to play, and has a lovely cast of characters. Some minor tech issues, like how there's a particle effect around some breakable items that seems only loosely related to whether that item will give a resource when you smash it, but the core is extremely solid. It feels charmingly like a game from 10 or 15 years ago rebuilt with better technology and progressive ideals. Excited for the full release!

Absolutely worth the ten dollars, it's exciting, heartfelt, challenging, and actually tries to engage with the player on a level that most games either never attempt or fall heartbreakingly short of reaching. Avoid spoilers for the story. The actual gameplay is quite good and adds a lot to the tired 'classic jrpg' formula.

This mod is definitely welcome, but it has its flaws. A friend reccomended it to me on the basis of it being really challenging, and I'd argue that it's less an actual challenge and more that the dev does not do enough to lead the player. More than once I found myself scratching my head at how to cross the supposedly straightforward connecting sequences, not because the solutions were complicated but because the devs had aranged the lighting to emphasize non-interactive props and left the actual path hidden in darkness. Also, while I don't expect the devs to match Valve's storytelling, I wish that they hadn't spent so much time rehashing the same jokes from the first two games. I definitely appreciate the production value and the genuine challenges in this mod, and I hope that the people who made this continue to improve and impress.
