Have played Civ series since its inception. If you are looking for a Civ 5 re-visit after Civ 6 changes, this isn't it. I would go as far to say that it is an entirely new installment with some gameplay features you've seen elsewhere, meshed in to a Civ like atmosphere.

I've gone through 4 full play-throughs, each with a little bit added tactics and knowledge but for the price tag of founders, I would say I'm not overly impressed and cannot in good conscience say, go get it, it's a must have!

It's a good game, as unpolished in some areas as launch to now reviews have indicated. The 3 eras and auto stop of the eras have you sometimes slowing your civ's advancement to squeeze in a few more goals before the end of the age, not something that's enjoyable.

All in all, glad there was a release, not regretting having purchased it but I would not say it's a Civ Fanatic release and it's getting closer to the general other civ builder game releases than it is remaining unique in its own way as previous releases did.

I won't be as excited when I hear of Civ VIII.

Fun game, once you find servers you enjoy even more fun.

Persistent world, tons to do, replayable. Awesome.

Early Access or not this is awesome. On my hunker laptop, cool, on my gamer rig, amazing.

Some mods to flesh it out for a fun playthrough but patches are incorporating them as we go along.
