Maybe if Arrowhead respected the playerbase and spent more time bringing lower-quality weapons to scratch instead of destroying the fun parts of the game, I'd have more happy things to say.

Scenarios are straight up not worth the money. The workshop scenarios (so everything except Charlemagne, Stephen, Otto, Mstislav and Fetih) are carbon copies of the ones included in the DLC, with the exception of a generic 'narrator' voice actor and a handful of quickly recorded lines.

The DLC exclusive scenarios are a massive hit or miss. Otto and Robert are really good, while Fetih is the laziest scenario flip ever.

I'd refund this if I could, but the completionist that I am demanded I put too many hours into it. A shame.

Did you know that Liquid Nitrogen is roughly -200 degrees? Thats a mere 50 degrees colder than your average Frostpunk storm temperature.

Take that into consideration when you forget to stockpile coal for that incoming storm and you gotta choose between sending in miners to die to keep the generator running or being the moral idealist who lets the coal mines shut down.

Good game, but Abandonware.

Lots of significant balance and AI issues that have yet to be fixed look to never be fixed.

If the game had a modding scene, then it would probably hold up, but there doesn't appear to be any modding capability.

To top it off, there is basically noone playing the game. Don't expect a 'Forged Alliance' style revival any time soon, unless the Developer comes back.

Ridiculously high potential, unfortunately squandered with its abandonment. Could have easily been an E-Sport of its own.

Pretty sure everyone i've played this game with absolutely hates it but they still manage to clear every daily bounty ever.

How you screw up Transmog is beyond me though, pretty much every MMO before D2 has done it successfully.

Regardless, its alright. Get it on sale.

I find is genuinely surprising that a game that came out when I was still a child is STILL at the forefront of its genre. Age of Empires 2 has managed to effectively surpass every competitor thats challenged it despite 20 years of planning from its competitors, a testament to how good this game is.

Yeah, Definitive Edition came out only a little over a year ago, but this is more for the legacy of AoE2. From getting a free CD key in a cereal box back in 2002, to grabbing a CD in a discount bin for The Forgotten Kingdoms in 2008, to being a fan-run community on Voobly all the way up till last year, where the biggest facelift the game has ever gotten came out. Triple the amount of civs from when the game has come out, triple the campaigns, each civ unique and different, and without making any civ feel like another one, yet balanced to such a way that only a tiny handful of civs don't feel viable.

I'd giving this the Labour of Love as well as a result. There are few games that survive 20 years, let alone be one of the biggest games on the market.

Except, it actually just works. You dont even need to mod the game to fix issues, as they don't really exist. There is however a massive mod community allowing you to pretty much modify the game in any way, shape or form you prefer. I can't think of another game that gives me as much freedom to do what I want as this game.

Its good to see that Bethesda is willing to try and make mods work again. With creation club, hopefully ill be able to get access to all the top quality mods that i know and love without having to wade through uncreative low effort nudity mods by dirty neckbeards. Keep on dragon-slaying my fellow dovahkin!!
