Arguably the greatest translation of TTRPG to CRPG in existence, and it just so happens to also be multiplayer. This is the only studio who should ever now be given the opportunity to create D&D turn based games. Quality work from top to bottom. This one absolutely deserves Game of the Year!

In my opinion, I much prefer this game over DayZ.

The UI is simple though much more intuitive. Crafting is easy to pick up and more advanced recipes are found in guide magazines that are dispersed throughout the island.

One comparison they fall short on is the base building. Recent updates, however, appear to be showing progress on that end as they sensibly tighten up material requirements for building components and are adding new pieces. I should also mention that you can find large metal sections of walls that can only be moved to your base by attaching a towing cable to a vehicle and dragging them there.

The graphics and environment are also far better as they make great use of the Crytek engine. Not only does it look better, but the environment is more interactive and far more dangerous. You'll find plenty of radiation, mutated insects crawling out of the couch you just stuck your hand into, or hazardous weather effects such as rad storms, chilling rain, and tornadoes.

Ranged weapons and attachments are currently expanding in recent updates and are working out quite nicely. Melee weapons are varied, though as with most survival games of this genre it's still a bit of a wonky combat mechanic. Stealth take downs are possible, but if you're spotted you can count on the mutants alerting everything in a very large radius so always have an escape plan.

All in all, I highly recommend this game over the multitude of survival types out there. The devs still seem very dedicated to making this dream come true. Be sure to let me know if you decide to pick this one up. I'll gladly brave the post-apocalypse with you!
