Believe me, age is the only real problem with this game. It's a frickin' masterpiece.

UPDATE: 20 years on, it's still worth your time. It's rough around the edges, but this one game is one of the most important pieces of several generations, past and future.

9/10 Would recommend to Michael Bay.

The Stanley Parable is one of the most ingenious and thought-provoking games I've played in a long time. It's not thought-provoking in the sense that it philosophically challenges the player and forces them to question the universe around them, but more in the sense that you are led to ponder your monotonous yet seemingly independent choices in games. Better yet, it bolsters a fantastic sense of humour that makes it so much more than just a hipster metagame.

My only gripe with this is the price. You won't get too many hours out of this and it should only be treated as a rare experience you go through in one sitting. My recommendation would be to wait for sales. The game usually goes on sale for about $3.74 during the minor and major sale seasons.

Like SCP Containment Breach but you're paralysed.
