Since Sony has withdrawn their policy to enforce PSN account linkage, I can now give this game the positive review it deserves.

I love Helldivers 2, and it's clear that Arrowhead does too.

The player character is a joy to control. AH's attention to detail has produced gorgeous and challenging world environments, and immersive sound design. The sound track perfectly captures the highs and lows of the games moments: the incredible highs of heroic victory, and the lows of epically fighting tooth and nail for your life as you strive against adversity with your teammates to complete the games objectives. Few games achieve the high you feel when you pull off a high difficulty mission, with your comrades in arms, and by the skin of your teeth evacuate alive, with seconds to spare, back to the safety of your ship.

The use of 'Stratagems' in the game is the cherry on top. You and your character are one and the same, as you clammer, in the heat of battle, to type in the call-in code mini-game for a life saving power weapon, or an objective securing bombing strike.

This game is a testament to how live service games should be done. The continuing shared world narrative in which all players work together to liberate planets in a continuing war against the enemies of Super Earth, has resulted in an engaging meta-narrative in the player community, as well as such a wholesome and collaborative player space.

Such a delightful wee game, I wish I could forget it and explore it all over again.
