I played and loved Helldivers 1. I also enjoy the movie Starship Troopers. This game is possibly an improvement over 1 in every way. It does have a high chance to have some bugs but the moments tend to be hilarious. The gameplay is fast and frantic so a bug is only a small moment in a large ocean of amusement. The devs have a focus on fun over anything else, standing by things like friendly fire because it is funny and against things like mandatory Sony accounts. If you like Starship Troopers or just co-op shooting this is a game to get!

:Edit: After this review, the game kind of took a dive (ha ha I know) and I honestly stopped playing for a while. But with all the recent balance changes and a new focus on making things fun and viable instead of "balanced" to prevent "overpowered player solutions" or whatever was going on that made so many weapons pointless; is being turned back to making an incredible experience once again. So if you've got friends, or enjoy playing with randos, this game is one of my favorites of the year.

Want to see which of your friends is the load? Then this is your game. Fight hordes of bugs, bats, bones, and draculas. Dodge arrows, solve puzzles, and survive traps all to gain gold, ore, and items to make your character stronger. Then get angry as that same guy dies AGAIN and now everyone is soul-linked. I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU DON'T LEARN TO DODGE-NO YOU DON'T GO FOR THAT ITEM, I DON'T CARE THAT WE OPENED THE CHEST, YOU SUCK AT THIS TRAP...Annnnd now we're all dead. Thanks so much. I had the full Apothocary's Set too, and 3 Marhams items.
