So many fighting games are great but I keep coming back to this one as a semi-casual. The single-player content is a bit lacking if you already played the original GBVS story mode, but here's hoping that new mode drops soon alongside season 2 and Sandalphon.

It's an award-winning story, though it definitely takes its time to really get going. It's also like 10 years old at time of writing this so there's also an added element of cringe in some of the dialogue which now feels quite dated.
The remaster is "fine", most of the time. There's a couple of glitches here and there - some which forced me to reload checkpoints when I got stuck in certain parts of the geometry, but it's not unplayable.
Overall though, it's worth it if you don't own the original; and it's also nice to have it all in one package.

This game is the definition of a Labor of Love (unlike the titles that usually win this Steam Award).
Great, fast paced 2d side-scrolling action with roguelike elements and content for days, weeks, months.
Can't recommend enough!

Yeah, it's worth playing if you love your 2D sidescrollers/metroidvanias, but I found by the end there were more than a few small ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that ended up making me not like it quite as much as I maybe could have.

A fantastic divergence from the Amnesia series that surpasses its predecessors in a lot of ways. It's not going to spook you in quite the same fashion, but the existential questions it raises are perhaps in a way the scariest part of SOMA.

Although it's more of an Amnesia 'Lite', with stripped back mechanics and a much shorter runtime, its stronger focus on a more thought-provoking and arguably better story makes it worth the ride.
However, if all you want is more of the original, then perhaps you should try another castle?

Bought this game over ten years ago, took me this long to muster up the courage to play it.

I tend to write short one-liner reviews that get to the point, but damn, Pentiment is a tough experience to wrap up in so few words. It's an adventure game/visual novel with some light RPG-style background and dialogue choices, but the real features are the story, the art, and the sound, which are all expertly crafted and so obviously created from a place of passion.
Pentiment is one of those games that just by looking at screenshots you can probably tell if you'll vibe with it or not, and if you do, you won't be disappointed.

100% action, 0% survival horror - which may be an immediate turn-off for some. However, it's an enjoyable romp that seems to somehow have aged like a fine wine. Perhaps it was just misunderstood on release.
