While the game does seem to be rather entertaining based on the first few minutes of my playtime, I can't reasonably recommend this game when CoD: Warzone has a better performance than Per Aspera. On lowest settings, while the FPS is playable, it gets worse the longer the game goes, and I get 10 more FPS on games that are labeled as demanding in terms of hardware.

There is no reason for this game to use so many resources, it is a city builder, not a triple A title.

If you are looking for a good Deception game, this isn't it. The lobbies were just kids screaming and fighting with each other while gamethrowing and trolling. You have to wait for 15 minutes between lobbies, and even then, the experiencie is unenjoyable.

Hard pass. You will have more fun with Throne of Lies or Town of Salem even. Don't play this, for your own sake. I can't take back the time I spent on this game, but you can take back yours.

I have played WarGaming games since World of Tanks initially came out. And honestly, it didn't age well. WarGaming made a trilogy of "Worlds". World of Tanks which is by far the most popular game, World of Warplanes which pretty much died out and now this game.

Honestly, the main problem is not the game itself. In fact the game is pretty fun. But WarGaming has made a terrible reputation for themselves over the course of the trilogy.

Russian bias and balancing issues are just small problems that WarGaming don't seem to learn from. Premium ships which cost enough to buy triple A titles and insane grind are the aspects because of which this game is slowly rotting, and WarGaming don't seem to realise it.

While yes, the game is actually pretty enjoyable, the business practices of WarGaming are attrocious, and that is why I just can't recommend it. The recent Puerto Rico scandal clearly outlines what I have been talking about in this review. In short, WarGaming put challenges in order for the playerbase to gain a tier X (highest tier in the game) ship for free. The problem is that you basically had to complete 5 years worth of challenges in just a month, which is completely insane. And lets not forget the fact that this was made during december-january, which is when people don't usually play games and instead enjoy time with their families and friends.

I don't think that "Well, it's free, so why don't you try it out" is a valid argument when the publisher just outright forces you to donate into this game if you want to have fun (or, you know, only level up the russian tech tree). I stand my case.

EDIT 19/8/2021:
You know, when I made this review originally I didn't really expect that the game would actually get worse. I thought to myself "Maybe the developers can actually fix the game, because it genuinely is fun!". After about 200-300hrs of play through the WarGaming's own launcher because the integration with Steam is completely broken (If you don't have an SSD expect to wait 15-20 minutes more on average every single time they update something, maybe only 5 minutes with SSD) I can safely say that this game isn't fun anymore. I thought that they wouldn't touch the amazing gameplay this game had. But unfortunately, over the past couple of years, this company has showed that the only thing they really care about is money.

☻Tons of Community Contributors (people who stream and make content about the game and are partnered with WarGaming who constantly support the game) have actually left the program and are now shifting towards other games.

☻This game is currently all over the news for all the wrong reasons. "Players are leaving over shady monetization practices". I am afraid that is not all.

☻Fundamentally broken class "Aircraft Carriers", that have been in the game for the past 2 years, in their new "reworked" state, are an absolute disaster. Better yet, despite the complains from countless of Community Contributors and the majority of the playerbase, WG intend to keep them in the game, because guess what, they aren't popular enough! Oh geez maybe it's because they are so boring to play no one plays them? So instead of reworking them like a normal company, you decide to buff them instead because you sank time and money into the rework? Oh wow WarGaming, this can't get any worse, right?

☻Ladies and gentlemen, allow WG to introduce a new class, Submarines! Ever felt like carriers were so unfun to play against every time they damaged a player for half their hp pool and spotted them for the entirety of the battle you wanted to rip your eyeballs out and crush your monitor with your sledgehammer? Fear not, for WG has the perfect solution for us! Another mind blowingly boring class so overpowered that they can remain unspotted for the entirety of the battle, except if you are a Carrier, in which case hurrah! I guess "Fight fire with fire" is a true statement. Or better yet, "Fight balance with balance"

☻Have you ever felt that the Soviet Navy was nonexistant during the WW2? Fear not, because in this game, a blueprint russian ship can beat even the mightiest warships of the Second World War, like Hood and Bismarck. Unless of course, you are a carrier, in which case there is no counterplay against you except your own boredom.

☻Have you ever felt that EA Sports didn't have enough lootboxes in their games? Fear not, for I present to you "World of Lootboxes" developed by WarGambling. Do you want a historically significant ship where Japan signed their surrender treaty, that was available for free just 3 years ago? Fear not, for WarGambling has the best fix for you, Random Bundles! That's right, with the implementation of "Surprise Mechanics" everytime you open the store to even buy stuff for free, instead of only wanting to rip your eyes out during the battle, you can now do so everytime you have the game open! Truly a wonderful solution. In fact, any rewards you may receive during battle, you can almost always count on it being a lootbox, just to get you accustomed to gambling, which is the true nature of this game. Better yet, look at this rating of age 7 in Europe and Teen in NA so that you can get your children to play this game and succumb to our shady practices, so we can earn more money!

☻Feedback? What do you mean? You know nothing! Better yet, that feature you are suggesting is so terrible, that it would completely cut our revenue stream! Wait, 80% of the community is suggesting the same thing? Ah, just ignore them, they are a vocal minority after all!

☻Wait, there is a game breaking bug with one of the main arnaments, that when you shoot it while turning your ship it effectively sways, breaking almost half of the ships? Well, we are a gambling company, so delay the fix by 2 patches (2 months) while you keep putting out premium ships for our lootboxes!

Yeah, after playing vs submarines in RANKED battles (Yes, they decided to add them into Ranked battles first instead of normal battles, after a huge massive rework to torpedo speed) I have decided to uninstall the game. I am not going to keep playing the game, when even the gameplay was ruined by this insane company called WarGambling. You know what their response was to almost all of the Community Contributors leaving? They didn't even apologize. In fact, their statement was so terrible, that for half of that statement they basically advertised Missouri, the historically significant ship I was talking about earlier. It won't actually be free however, and the mechanics of obtaining it without lootboxes are so bad, to the point where due to their "technical limitations", you need to message the Support team, so that they deduct the small price of a AAA title from your in-game premium currency, and give you Missouri after 2 weeks. Magnificent! At least Cyberpunk developers are actually fixing the bugs, listening to the community, and making the game better, while this gambling company somehow manages to ruin everything everytime they do anything.

If you are even consider playing this game, trust me, you will have more fun in a toxic cesspool such as League of Legends, or better yet, do yourself a favor and buy a really good AAA game, you will have much more fun than with this gambling simulator.

Honestly, for that price tag, this game is definitely worth it.

There is just something satisfying in building a perfect deck which will take you to victory through inmense battle system and very enjoyable card combinations.

Every class has different deck building strategies, and you should adapt to one of them as you play the game. As after each combat you choose between a set of 3 different cards the game forces you to adapt throughout your adventure.

So if you have money to spare, you will definitely enjoy the game. The enjoyment and more importantly, the replayability you get out of this game definitely makes it worth it.

With my.com taking over warface, the game went downhill from there.

EDIT: (Due to the request of a developer).
Lets see, where do I start, hmmm... The gameplay is amazing, the indicators are pretty good and the missions are mostly enjoyable and satisfying when you complete them. All of the pros that I just mentioned are controlled by Crytek, and my.com has nothing to do with these... Luckily...

So, what's wrong with my.com you might ask? Almost everything non-gameplay related.
I am gonna start with free stuff first and then progress to most issues that people have with donator and "P2W".

The vendor system is very grindy. To truly be able to get a gun that is able to rival every box gun currently in PvP, the player MUST buy at least a mega-vip booster in order not to die from boredom sitting and completing the PvE missions and PvP for around 100 or even 200 hours.
And that is if you get lucky with that gun, there might be a case in which you will never get it untill you got all other guns, and in that case the VP cost will be pretty high.

The warbucks boxes apart from containing the worst chances possible of getting a gun, are mostly bad in general. Lets take the nerfed TWM/AWM for example. In the past it required one shot to kill a player, now it requires 2. That is a big disadvantage because everyone who bought kredits have their bolt-action snipers like AX308 which can oneshot anyone. All of the bad guns are mostly put in the warbucks containers because no one ever uses them nowadays.

I understand that there are better guns which can rival the "P2W", however, the chances of getting it temporarily for a good time are insanely low comparing to a kredit container (not talking about permanent), and they are somewhat handicapped comparing to, once again, the guns from the kredit boxes.

The warlord armor (and the high cost of repair system in general) takes most of the fun away from the game. I am a PvE player myself, who plays without a predetermined team. I fail hard missions around 5 times per mission because my team either couldn't work out a strategy or died early on, leaving me soloing a hard mission. By failing one of these I would get around 50 warbucks as a reward (with 75% VIP booster from daily rewards). The warlord armor (not the complete set) costed 100 warbucks to repair, and my gun costed 30 warbucks to maintain as well. I loose around 70 warbucks per failed mission, which means a lot because the profit margin for these with first daily win reward is around 300 (not talking about doing these twice).

The special missions are a nightmare compared to the hard missions (on easy when playing public) because it takes around 30 attempts to complete the mission, once again, ON EASY, while playing with a random team. I wouldn't mind attempting these over and over again if not for the insane repair cost and how much I loose by doing these.

Now we shift towards the DLCs from steam and stuff bought with kredits.

The tournament packs (the DLCs which offered armor by supporting the developers) didn't have a repair cost. When my.com took control, they not only enabled repair costs for these, but also set them to the repair cost of the warlord armor (basically made it pointless to buy a tournament pack).

Before my.com took over the publishing, the cost on gold weapon repairs was free as a reward to those lucky enough to roll them. Now, there is a repair cost, making it pointless in rolling a golden gun apart from diminishing number buffs which are not noticeable at all and some extra cyborg damage in PvE.

(As for the 2 points I just mentioned, I actually do not know how my.com thinks this will improve their profit margins. It seems like it will, rather, decrease them by a huge amount. Lets move on down the list because there are still more things to discuss.)

My.com silently nerfs weapons over time and then release newer donator weapons which are more op than before, forcing players to roll them from, you guessed it, the random boxes. Those weapons that were actually good before are now pretty bad... You get the point.
There are many more things to cover but I feel like I am just wasting my time making this review. I've read many responses from the developers and they actually haven't adressed any issues pointed out in other reviews. I can guarantee you that if they reply it will be their poor attempt at defending themselves in order to get new players play the game and donate money...

P.S. I didn't mention easy and normal PvE missions as for these I do not use a warlord armor, however, if I did, the repair cost and loss margins would be pretty high.

EDIT 2: So I was playing some casual warface (I only complete easy missions now since there is no point in doing anything else) and a player from south america commented upon seeing someone's golden gun "It's a shame people actually donate money to this game"

This is pretty much the whole community in a nutshell. I have talked to both players who are dedicated to the game (from russian servers where this game originated and people who donated money to the game and actively support the developers with microtransactions) to new players and what they think about the game aspects. New players commented about, of course, the P2W aspect of the game, the microtransactions and everything, and veterans and active donators complain about the server issues, terrible lag even with a pretty good internet connection, and that "It's almost impossible to kill someone on PvP efficiently if you don't have all 5 ping colums" quoting one of them.

However, NONE of them pointed out the amazing features of the game, the whole gameplay, the indicators, the UI, NONE of them said that this game was a good game and they are amazed by it. That's how bad my.com screwed everyone over.

Even though I am still playing this game (just for the gameplay of course) I wouldn't recommend it to never players. If you still want to try this game out after all of this please, make sure not to donate anything to my.com... 6 years of screwing everyone over at the russian server, and 1 more year to the western side. I am fed up with all of the intolerance of the publishers to the players, and I think everyone should be aware of how badly they handled pretty much everything the game has to offer.

EDIT 3: (After KIWI operation has been completed and multiple actions to get the online up have been done)

TL DR, I can't recommend the game still. And I am mostly sure that I will never be able to, for a simple fact that mail.ru have a bad history of investing into the worst games up to date. For no TL DR continue reading.

KIWI on launch was the worst paid operation in the history of warface. First of all, they launched it on SUMMER!! That's right, when everyone is on a vacation, when everyone wants to enjoy the overseas. Secondly, the rewards were grindy and non-profitable. Last but not least, from my perspective, KIWI trade hub is only open to those who bought the expansion in NA, but available to BUY for everyone in the russian servers (correct me if I am wrong).

They made an auction called the "Summer Marathon" which involved killing 100 players in multiplayer, every day, for at least 45 days of 60 days that the marathon has been going for. The rewards were kinda bad, except for Krazy Horse for the sniper, which is basically a oneshot semi-sniper (its not the meta, even with the max damage it still has x0.8 multiplier on hits, while box guns have x1.0 multiplier on each hit). It's really grindy for NA, but on RU, where everything is controlled by mail.ru (my.com) they actually somehow enjoy it, which I find very confusing.

They rebalanced AWM,giving it max damage(still has x0.8 multiplier which is the SAME as the semi-sniper called Krazy Horse mentioned above (also full damage only applies to golden version of the gun))You release Krazy Horse for free with better rate of fire and then you give AWM same stats? No space in review left.

Controls are clunky, random encounters with bosses you can't possibly defeat without a strategy happen everytime. Probably the worst optimization too. 40 gbs only to find out a dissapointment.

But hey, what did I expect from ubisoft, a good game?
