It's a neat idea to have a remastered version of 2004's Doom 3, which also contains RoE and classic Doom games, but i don't think it's that good as i thought. You know why? Because of the changes to Doom 3 and RoE and classic Doom games:

1. Game being brighter. I know a lot of people thought that original Doom 3 was TOO dark, but making it brighter reduces the atmosphere that this game has. Even with lowest brightness setup, the game is a little bit brighter than max brightness in the original.
2. Mounted flashlight - probably THE MAIN reason why a lot of people prefer this version over the original. Makes sence for console versions (PS3/XBox360), but PC - not so much. I like that vulnerability situation when you hold a flashlight in the original game and there's an enemy in your face. In this version: Enemy in front of you in the dark room; flashlight on; shotgun to the face with flashlight on. Also the flashlight is limited, unlike the original 2004 game.
3. Ammo. The game quite literally feeds you with an ammo. In Level 4 of Doom 3 campaign i ended up with full shotgun and machine gun ammo. Even on Veteran, it's easy with all that ammo. I think it makes sence for console versions to feed you with an ammo, but for PC - not at all.
4. Level changes in RoE are just stupid in my opinion: Waste Tunnels have been changed by removing the gas in the tunnels and the helmet in this kind of an airlock, so you don't have to kill Hazard zombies to get their oxygen tanks, well you need to kill everyone you see, but you get the idea. Entire section in Hell, where you need to use an Artifact to puch out a bunch of Mancubi, Hellknights and Imps, is completely gone, The Maledict fight is easier because 1. He doesn't spawns Lost Souls, and 2. The rocks (or meteorites or whatever the hell they are) do less damage.
5. If you think it's enough of changes? No, because the changes to classic Doom games are even worse: Wolfenstein levels after Map 15 are just "naked", 2 changes to Nightmare! difficulty involves the speed of Demons being reduced to UV speed and the speed for fireballs being reduced. The red cross in Medikits, Stimpacks and Berserk packs have been replaced by red'n'white pill, which is lame. The music sounds weird and awkward, can't: change controlls, open the console, use cheats, play multiplayer. Just, why?
The Lost Missions are fine, but they're too short.

Conclusion
Doom 3: BFG Edition is a good way to remember the horror of the original Doom 3, it's still enjoyable, i would recommend it if not for changes, but no. I would say, if you own original Doom 3: Phisical copy or Steam, stick with them, and if you really want to play the remastered version - "Go 2 It", it's up to you. 6/10
