Nonsensical story, boring gameplay, extremely badly telegraphed bossfights. Play any better game of the same genres on the market.

Scarlet Nexus is a weird game. It has extremely high ups and extremely low lows in both gameplay and story.

Get this game on sale and enjoy it for what it is.

Card game gacha with Lovecraftian theme. Balance feels good, multiple different builds, 4 factions with different mechanics.

Steam client cannot be linked to mobile yet which is a problem, but it should be fixed in the future, right?

Simply an unfinished product. Story is too short and there isn't much to do in the game outside of grinding 30m dungeons for pitiful resources.

ProjectMoon are clueless about how to make a modern gacha game. Gacha system and daily activities clearly made as an afterthought in this single player product. No interaction between players whatsoever. Recently introduced skip function is an insult and shows how out of touch devs are.

As for positives - this is a gorgeous game in PM signature artstyle. Gameplay is quite deep and there is a lot of room for optimization if you are into it.

Go play Tales of Berseria instead.

Tales of Arise is a JRPG with decent gameplay, even if balance between moves makes you wonder who got paid to playtest this cough Reigning Slash cough Lightning Field. 2 out of 6 characters are barely playable and only used because their boost attacks cheese mechanics. In the end playing the best DPS character in the game and just dodging and spamming one button was kinda fun, so gameplay part passes.

Story doesn't. Story is supposed to be good in JRPGS, but it's barely watchable. Main cast is boring and uninspiring, antagonists are so evil you feel like you are watching Saturday morning children cartoon instead of a serious story. Premise is extremely dark, but protagonists are heroic goody two-shoes. It's barely bearable in first 2 nations, but after that party's reactions are so absurd I wasn't able to take story seriously at all. Ending is absurd too, no resolution, antagonists having to suicide to progress the story anywhere, etc.

This is not helped by the fact that interactions between party members aren't interesting in 90% of the cases. It's feels like they talk about same things over and over and over again, without any development. Honestly the funniest dialogue in the game happened when whole party fell from a really high place in the mountain and it wasn't even a skit.

Overall not worth money spent, you are better off playing literally any other Tales game in the series if you can handle old graphics and worse gameplay.
