Want a Pokemon MMORPG? This is it.

Pros:
- This game has actual difficulty. Expect to wipe a few times.
- Devs are responsive and transparent. They fix bugs quickly and describe what was fixed (none of those obscure "stability improvements").
- The writing is very interesting. It's more varied than in Pokemon; NPCs have more to talk about than just Temtems.
- Movement is very fluid. Switching between running and surfing is instant and doesn't require you to sift through dialog boxes.

Differences to Pokemon:
- Temtem battles are 2-on-2 or sometimes 2-on-1.
- Temtem have a stamina bar (think "MP") which recovers a bit each turn instead of PP on their moves. You can overexert your Temtem, but you'll lose HP for any "MP" you're missing for the move. You might only be able to unleash a single high-powered move before having to recover. In my experience, this makes battles more dynamic and interesting.
- Stamina ("MP") recovers after each battle.
- Breeding has items that can be held to lock in certain "SVs" (think IVs in Pokemon). These can be used to breed guaranteed max-SV Temtem. Breeding is cheaper and easier than in Pokemmo (the MMORPG equivalent for Pokemon).
- Two Temtem can breed if they share the same type (e.g. a Water and a Water-Wind can breed with each other).
- Each Temtem can only breed a certain number of times.
- Movement is in 360 degrees except for sliding puzzles (e.g. ice floors).
- Methods of earning money (trainers and gyms still give money, but there are a few more ways)

Cons:
- Day One stability could've been better (but could've been much worse).
- Early access has a few bugs left, but they're being fixed quickly.
- Missed opportunity to market the game with TimTams.

A disappointing and difficult to navigate UI makes this game leave a bad taste in my mouth.
