Put this on my wishlist years ago because I really liked Heat Signature and forgot it existed until it came out.

Just finished the main story and about 1/2 of the side missions. I have got so much more I want to do! The real pleasure of this game is the total freedom you have to play around with it's mechanics, which could easily become trivial or repetitive but by slowly trickling new moves and more challenging puzzles TBW manages to pull off excellently.

What this game (and the other games by this team) manages to do so well is throw a bunch of bespoke, clearly defined game pieces with their own rules into a play space and allow the complexity to arise from the interaction of those pieces. This game feels like a peak of that design philosophy and I thoroughly recommend it for that alone.

On top of this there is a pretty fun story with some decent political intrigue. I think the dialogue is funny and sincere where it needs to be but I found that the characters lacked distinct voices. I think the humour relied a bit too much on self-awareness and snark to the point where it was nearly grating but there are some really funny moments in there too.

In short: Highly recommend, if the dialogue isn't your cup of tea then it's all skippable.

Don't want to spoil it but if you like story driven games and/or weird ♥♥♥♥ like me then it is well worth it.
