Game is getting review-bombed because 300 thousand people are all trying to play at the exact same time for a game server that had an expectancy of 7 thousand concurrent players. And also because some people are complaining about anti-cheat in videogames again (which IS an issue, but review bombing has never and will never get rid of the anti-cheat).

Look, the game is really good. Like, REALLY good. If you enjoy Starship Troopers as an IP then you'll like this experience. You're fighting for democracy in intergalactic war, calling in airstrikes and destroying nests and outposts to push back the offensive.

If you hate anti-cheat, don't get it. If you aren't patient enough to wait in a queue, don't get it (but this issue is getting fixed soon so your patience will be rewarded). If you don't care about either, however, and have been looking for another game similar to Left 4 Dead 2 and Deep Rock Galactic, this is the game for you.

Better than WoW. Not pay-to-win in the slightest, other than job skips (though I have no clue why you'd buy a job skip, you'll just be lost on how to actually use the job). You can have a house, get married, start a free company (clan), get immersed in the story, and stylize your character in surprisingly fitting outfits for the setting you're in. Tons of FF references, Cloud clothes for having an account for long enough if you're interested in that, Vivi has a whole quest chain, and loads and loads of classic bosses.

---ADVICE FOR FIRST BUYERS---
Here's some advice: either buy it here, or get a free trial up to the Heavensward expansion (level 60) from the Square Enix site. If you buy it here, you cannot avoid having a paid subscription, so be warned of that. There's also no account transfer over separate launchers, which is a little bogus. However, on Steam you get the ease of having the expansions come out on the store plus the playtime counter at Steam. I recommend getting the free trial on the Square Enix site, playing a job until you get it to level 60, then seeing if you truly like the game.

Have fun!

Pizza Tower is the love of my life. I've been following the game since the SAGE 2019 demo, and let me tell you: this game has always been the perfect homage to speedy platformers. What do I mean by that? Well, I say this for a number of reasons:
- The soundtrack is absolutely bumpin' throughout the whole game
- Everything is in this surrealist 1990's Nick cartoons animation style, and it's jam packed with all sorts of different animations for specific actions (there's an animation where Peppino slips off the edge after turning too late? chef's kiss)
- The gameplay makes you feel like you're good at video games when you've combo'd about 50 enemies in a row since you entered the level
- The controls are fluid and responsive down to the FRAME
- It's an overall hilarious experience. You slip on a banana peel and Peppino bounces around and destroys everything he crashes into, he screams when his ass is on fire, fun stuff like that
- The replayability becomes infinite when you suck at the game but desperately want a P rank

Do I have any gripes? Not many, but a few:
- it can get frustrating to have to restart because you weren't going mach 4 and got hit in the process (however, the game mitigates this by making the restart button super fast)
- The secrets can range from being right in your face to being completely hidden in the landscape; might just be a skill issue though.

That's all I have. Definitely recommend this game with each of my seven toes, it gets a 10/10 in my book

I'll give a thumbs up for when the game has a full release, but for now I just haven't been very satisfied with it. There's really only a few things you can do: a shooting range, a zombie map, and some courses for king of the hill type gameplay. These would be fine if they were more fleshed out, but i was seriously frustrated by how difficult they were to manage (minus the shooting gallery). A lot of the gameplay REALLY relies on you having teleportation movement, so they toss a map that takes 3 million years to get across and makes the game a walking (or teleporting) simulator.

I was really stoked for the devs implementing climbing mechanics, I was; but when I tried it myself I spent a good 40 minutes attempting to use the other tools to get my one tool that i accidentally lodged into the top of the structure. You may say "just spawn a new one", and you'd be justified in saying so. Regardless, however, at the end of the day I just wanted to have fun climbing, which didnt really come about easily. One thing I really hope for in the future is a climbing/shooting combination game mode, but that's just wishful thinking.

Lastly, I wanna make the point that I really like the gun mechanics. There's nothing else more realistic, give or take Boneworks, and it really adds to the fun when i read up on how to manually load a flintlock pistol from the 1800s. I really hope more goofy stuff gets added as well, like a GMod tool gun.

So, if you're here to buy a shooting gallery, then feel free to buy it; youll have a hell of a time. If you want gameplay, though, this is not the game for that. Give it time for a full release before something interesting gameplay-wise happens and you might have a perfect gun game on your hands. Until then, I personally wouldn't recommend it to my friends trying out VR for the first time.
