It's basically retail WoW except at the moment it's cool to hate Blizzard because they abandon systems and make you start over too frequently. The first and second dungeons were facerolled; I tanked. The first dungeon I used combos, taunts and aggro generating abilities pulling much more than I probably should have. There was no fear of being stunned, silenced, over pulling, running out of resources (think mana or rage). For the second dungeon, I did none of what a tank should do and didn't come close to a wipe.

There is no strategy at all and no danger of losing when leveling making it very boring. If you're not going to make leveling somewhat of a challenge then just get rid of levels and start everyone at max. It seems like you can take all the professions and are not limited at all. You can change classes/spec whenever you want provided you started the quests for it and have that classes weapon (basically a lvl 1 quest). I don't see how there is anything to this game...it's similar to every WoW theme park MMO before it.

If you buy this game thinking you are going to find greener grass than retail then you'll basically find the same grass. Leaving classic WoW for this? Well, the grass on the FF14 side of the fence is pretty much dead . Classic might not be as much of a challenge as once thought but this entire game is easy mode and far more casual than classic ever was.

This whole wave of streamers and youtube personalities are either engaging in some kind of coordinated, subversive marketing paid for by Square-Enix or they have bought into the marketing themselves without realizing it for free. This isn't a Final Fantasy game...it's retail WoW with a FF skin.

If a door can indeed be used to judge the quality of a game, that door would speak volumes about Call of the Wild. Open one of the doors at the look out points and watch it go from closed to open in one frame. Amazin'! I killed two animals. The game uses a tracking system where the tracks glow bright blue for an active track or bright white for the track of another animal. Very realistic. I'm out. Returned. Hopefully it gets approved. Don't waste your time.
