Nice Hack 'n Slash game. I would recommend buying it on a sale though, due to it's age.

The overalls mechanics are quite basic, sometimes whacky (such as hitting jars). Overall, the execution is solid but not top notch.

I very much liked literally slashing through hordes of enemies towards the end of the game. The "story" is so basic, it could basically be non-existent.

You will max out all skills in one playthough, there is no New Game Plus. The game is about 5h long for one complete run on easy difficulty.

Spoiler: To get the good ending do not buy any of the dark magic skills.

TLDR:
Non violent exploring and collecting game with clunky controls; badly optimised; buy only on sale only.

It makes me sad, but I can't recommend this game although it's one of the rare non-violent games.

The core of the game is exploring, collecting crystals and finding new plant types. You have to collect the broken pieces of your spaceship along the way.

The main reason why I don't recommend it are the core mechanics and controls: They are extremely clunky and imprecise. Even a couple of hours in I still fight the controls and often miss what I want to grab or where I want to land.

The second reason is the bad optimisation of the game. With such simple graphics it's still unbelievably taxing on the hardware. Don't expect to run it well on a iGPU.

This is not a negative point, but the length of the game is rather short as well, I would say 6-8 hours if you don't go for absolutely all collectibles.

* Controller heavily recommended

As much as I want to recommend this game, I can't.

The Good:
* Unique setting and artstyle, everything is paper and carboard. You're a small paper figure in a human sized environment.
* Okay story (as far as I have progressed)
* Customizing the looks of your character, you even could print them out (!)
* An array of weapons to choose from
* Pets
* Light tower defence elements

The Bad:
* Clunky mechanics
* Weird aiming
* Both above make the game more frustrating than hard
* You run out of ammo way too fast
* As other reviews have said, the ally and pet AI is very bad.

The Ugly:
* Rare game breaking bugs (stuck UI, allies dieing due to being stuck and stupid AI)

Overall it's decent, but heavily lacks polish. Looking at the age of the game, there probably won't be any more bugfixes/changes.

If you still want to buy it, grab it only on a sale with at least 50% discount.

It's more or less a classic MMORPG with a unique setting. It's worth to play through the story once.

The good:
* Frequent cinematics with good voice acting
* Overall okay gameplay and okay graphics

The bad:
* I'm a new player TSW, but the combat feels still a little clunky
* The quickbar can only hold very few (six) skills, so you have to carefully select which ones you want to use
* Bad performace, even on a capable PC (GTX980M maxes at 70FPS with medium-ish settings)

The ugly:
* HORRIBLE loading times
* It's a Funcom game. Horrible and slow support in case you need it, STEER CLEAR of any game from them. (I have a history with Anarchy Online.)
* There seem to be a lot of P2W aspects, especially endgame. Play the story and be done with it.

Waste of money. If you own the old disc version, go play that one. It works still well even on a modern Windows 10 64bit.

The difference between this remastered version and the old one is small.
* The in-game visuals are basically the same.
* Some improvements were done on the audio and the menu is now HD
* and that's it.

Now here's REALLY bad thing: This port is technically very bad (badly optimised), with frame rates dropping well below 10 and making it unplayable, even on a good PC.
