Early Access Review
Love the environment effects and where this is going.

Most roguelites have very rigid environments without room for experimentation, beyond your typical 'exploding barrels' and other similar tropes, in Aura of Worlds you get the feeling the developers built a world environment physics and lighting.

In this game you can enter a dark room lit by only a small lantern, blow up that lantern and the fire it causes spreads around temporarily illuminating the whole room, you can pick up virtually everything, including chests you open and throw them at enemies.

Coming from Dead Cells at first the game felt difficult and even frustrating to play but then I realized it is more deliberately paced, it's less about power micromanagement (complete with their refresh time) and more about strategically using the combination of weapon, special talent and class perks you picked at the start of the game to dispatch the few but relatively powerful and often tricky enemies you face.

I really enjoyed playing this game and look forward to more updates and polish coming through with time.

Feels like the platforming controls are straight out of a Unity asset store platformer plugin along with the screen tearing which felt like it was just there because the developer thought it was a cool $15 add on as it serves no real puprouse besides muddying up the games aesthetic.

It's a bit confusing what power ups the game decides to assign you (looks like it's random?). There was a 'heavy weapon' mod added to my character which stayed through a few play throughs and made it look like she was peeing when shooting. Might have been a poor attempt to handle the fact there's no way to aim with the gun which only shoots sideways in a platformer focused on downwards movement.

I enjoyed how terribly executed America focused political satire was, it mostly misses the mark unless the developer was deliberately going for ♥♥♥♥♥♥ poorly executed satire. Trumps election must have been a huge relief for this games developer.

Pretty fun on the whole though if you like throw away games like this.
