It is, under every aspect, a step forward compared to the already excellent base game.

- The map is large and, more importantly, full of content and variety, it is presented in an astonishing way and it keeps on giving as you progress through it, offering a lot of different landscapes and finally even different and original dungeons because those in the base game could get repetitive after a while.
- The NPCs and their quests, which I definitely missed to some extent, are interesting and make the world feel alive, I have yet to become as fond of them as the ones in the base game but they are all well characterised.
- The enemies are mostly original with just a bunch of them taken from the base game and the bossfights are the most complex and inspired I've ever seen, and I will talk about the much discussed difficulty at the end.
- Finally, lorewise most of what it introduces makes sense, and most of what is left open in the base game is explained (looking at you Dark Souls 3).

Now, getting to the ambigous part, it is noticeably harder than the base game as it is meant to be played after Mohg, an endgame boss. It could actually be too much harder and feel unbalanced especially at higher ng scalings but I've personally enjoyed its difficulty, going through it with a level 120 character at base ng and struggling just enough to make me appreciate every fight without feeling overwhelmed. I understand that it might get frustrating but the game offers you all the means to overcome the challenges, even more than any previous FromSoftware title, and it is up to the player to use them and feel accomplished, so I personally consider its difficulty another point in its favor.

The only criticism I have, for now, is that the atmosphere changes too quickly (such as rain, fog, lights) and sometimes breaks the immersion.

A very singular experience, it succeeds well in its initial intent of being a visual novel, giving the player enough time to immerse and forget about the real nature of the game, in which it succeeds even more. I also really appreciated the interaction with the game files, which change dynamically as the game progresses. A unique experience that I highly recommend!

Interesting and original idea, cute art style and funny narrative, I really enjoyed it, although when there are only a few endings left it could get a bit repetitive.

A beautiful adventure, "short" like the title says but not too much if you want to 100% it (it took me 5 hours), the perfect game to play all in one go to relax and disconnect from the world.

This was my first Yakuza and I liked it so much I'll probably play the others now.
The game itself is bizzarre in a good way, especially because it merges RPGs mechanics in a real life context, an aspect that I really appreciated. But the thing that I liked the most is the story, that's what kept me going through the game, it could be too much for some people because the cutscenes can be really long (15+ minutes sometimes) but if you want to experience what this game really has to offer, don't skip them!

A little masterpiece, and "little" is an understatement because it's actually very vast especially if you want to 100% it. Excellent art style, every place is unique and has its own atmosphere thanks to the beautiful map design, soundtrack and lore. Excellent gameplay, everything feels smooth such as the combat system and the movement. Excellent mechanics, you will need to do a lot of backtracking because you will learn new combat and movement arts as you progress, things that will change the way you fight and explore the world. Excellent game.
