As a massive hololive fan I thought I'd like the game just for being hololive related. Who would have thought it would be the one of, if not the best games in the genre.

Surreal experience, one of the best indie games I've played.

Changes the game in a way that makes it feel much better!

Economy and Diplomacy are amazing, especially Building Ownership and Lobbies.

I still recommend this game, it has improved a lot over the year since its release!

They added a better war system, a more localised economy and a much better implementation of how laws are passed. Of course, this is not everything but those are definitely the most important.

The next DLC should hopefully improve on Diplomacy as that's the area of the game that needs the most work.

Victoria 3 has an great base that I can only see getting better over time. I think the main things that would push the game to be my favourite of all PDX games if improved is:

AI Improvement - that the AI needs some work, I feel it just cannot keep up with the player as its scared that buisnesses will not be automatically profitable, this along with its desire to treaty port everywhere.

UI - UI Improvements for things like how much pops are spending on goods as currently its viewed through a couple of nested tooltips. If this was just more accessible then it would be great.

Bugs - A few minor ones that will get squashed so not too bad.

Economy - I very much like the economy system with possibly some alterations to how auto expand is working. It feels like what you are doing matters and has hooked me completely, just wish like others said a system like capitalists from Vic 2 existed.

Warfare - Warfare is good enough for the moment but could be massively improved on with the addition of new orders, not just defend and attack along the entire front but choosing where to attack towards or using artillery to bombard them

Essentially my review boils down to the game being an unpolished gem, which from following the development and interacting with the Dev team on the Victora Discord I can say is in in very good hands and I have faith this game will not turn into the next Imperator.

Possibly the best RPG I have ever played. You are a detective trying to solve a murder in a town that doesn't really have its own law. Each playthrough should be slightly different as the character skill points and perk allocations should be different every playthough as you use different skills to get different clues, one playthrough you may not be have the skills to know what sort of firearm you are looking at and the next you can tell the guns history just by a glance. Everything from characters to world building is amazing. Don't miss out on this gem.

TLDR at bottom

Respawn Entertainment have outdone themselves with this. The story is fun, the environments are great to look at and the game runs well on my system. I played the game on Jedi Master difficulty and I felt it was perfect in terms of difficulty of combat as it wasn't a walkover most of the way through (if I was to think of a bad thing off the top of my head it would be the games length would not be nearly as long on a lower difficulty) It took me 19 hours on this difficulty which was a pleasant surprise as I was expecting alot less. Easily one of the best star wars games since the likes of kotor.

Combat feels alot like a souls games with meditation spots that serve as your bonfires(resting to restore healing items and to respawn enemies. The combat itself feels soulslike too with heavy empasise of using parry and force powers to defeat enemies at least on the higher difficulty, this is paired with climbing mechanics similar to uncharted.

Even though we have been told there will be no dlc I really hope Respawn reconsider changing that or atleast let the story of Cal in another format.

TLDR: beautiful looking Star Wars game with a kickass story, dark souls combat and uncharted climbing.that feels good played at higher difficulty. Only thing missing is achievements.

This is a game I want to love as I can feel the love that the devs put in, it has the potential to be a great game but I feel that this will only come with the usual Paradox DLC treatment. There is a patch coming soon that is apparently going to address alot of the issues that people have such as bad UI or the current system of just waiting for the mana to reach a certain number so I can press a button.

I love all Paradox's other grand strategies and it makes me sad not enjoy this one as much. I will look into the game again when the patch or expansions hit but for now I'm uninterested and have to not recommend it.

18/8/2019 EDIT: Still do not recommend. In my eyes the updates the game has received are still lack luster and the upcoming changes are still not going to fix it.

tldr; Love it and games still being supported after 5 1/2 years although the price may be high for new users without a sale.

Personally the best game I have ever played.

The game has been built up over 5 1/2 years with updates and expansions that continue to enhance the experience and keep myself and others coming back for more. This is also the games double edged sword, for a new user I have to recommend that they buy the game and it's 15 expansions (and most likely they will make more in the future) on sale unless they want to pay alot more than a normal purchase. Over the years the cost was spread so it wasn't really an issue but in one purchase the game may be costly.

That being said the game has sucked nearly 900 hours out of me that feel like they went by in a flash. Its a great game that takes a bit to get used to but after that hurdle you are set to spend hours playing as lots of different countries that each have their own perks and challenges.

EDIT: If you play with someone and you don't have dlc and they do you can play the new dlcs without paying
