Really enjoyed this game. Even though it made me finally come to the conclusion that i am messed up in the head and PROBABLY maybe need therapy. Probably not, Probably okay though.

Good game, Good story, Looking forward to what comes next!

TL;DR at the bottom.

Okay, First of all, I would like to say, This is my first review so I will attempt to stay as unbiased as possible to the current state of the series.

I have been a fan of doctor who since Christopher Eccleston, I have loved, lived and cried over the story, and was even one of those children who subscribed to those magazines you got on a bi-weekly basis (The name escapes me). I do not have an "Issue" with the new doctor (Jodie Whittaker), I just do not find her fun to watch. So now you have my current stand on past and present doctor who.

Now, The game (Time to take off the rose-tinted glasses)...

Visuals: The visuals are okay, they are not outstanding or good, they portray what they need to portray and do not take anything away from the game. Do not walk into this game expecting amazing graphics, but like I said; the graphics take nothing away from the experience.

Audio: The audio is good, as you would expect in a VR title. The sounds are the same as in the show, and the music is spot on. The 'Title sequence' gave me chills and I got giddy as I did back when I was watching doctor who before school.

Gameplay: This game is a series of expanded escape rooms. At the end of the day, if you DO NOT enjoy escape room games, I can almost guarantee that you will not enjoy this game.

So, basic game elements out the way, I think its time to talk about the game. I am writing this review 1.3 hours into the game, and I think the first hour is important in a game like this. I would also like to note that I have refunded this game, so you know its downhill from here.

There is one thing, and one thing only that made me refund this game, and that was the nagging at the player to do something. If you stayed looking at the environment, exploring or even hunting for hidden easter eggs, you would get constantly nagged at by one of the voice actors. At first, I assumed this: "Okay, so the story must go on, and the first few levels will just be a tutorial, so push through and you will be left to figure things out shortly". The worst assumption I could have made, to be honest. As soon as you get out of the "Tutorial" section, you are told that during an event, you now have nanobots installed in your head for another protagonist to give you instructions when another protagonist cannot. This one thing annoyed me to high heaven, this is the reason I refunded (But not the reason I stopped playing at 1.3 hours in, More on this later).

This kind of felt like an insult to my intelligence. I can see clearly that I am meant to use these levers, to adjust the maze and guide the laser to the next room, but no, you have to keep reminding me every minute. This is the level of frustration i am on about, but you understand what I am saying, so unlike the game, I will let you think for yourself.

the next thing is the screwdriver... Yes, the iconic sonic screwdriver that is known to all to be a tool of pure awesomeness. you point it at stuff and magic happens. You do not feel like you are doing anything other than aiming your TV remote at your TV and switching channels, but instead of changing channels, you open doors. Wow, engaging.

And finally for this review... The bugs. There isn't many, but one bug took me out of the experience completely (Do not worry, I will be speaking about 1.3 hours in here, but as you have probably seen the screenshots, nothing is spoiled). There is a point in the game with the horrifying 'weeping angels' that from what I could tell, was meant to be intense and scary. This part of the game had you pumping a generator and waiting for an elevator. all I could see was the generator and empty void. The level didn't load in properly and broke my immersion. I could hear the iconic sounds of lights flickering, and angels getting closer, obviously what I was meant to see is the angels rushing towards me in the flashing lights... I saw nothing. I wanted to feel scared, all I felt was an HMD on my face and disappointment. Oh, and the voice "In my head" speaking through this experience.

Bugs will be fixed. But this is what made me close the game, with no wish to return.

This may be only my experience, yours may be different. But I cannot recommend this game.

TL;DR: Played for 1.3 hours, by the end, I got aggravated due to the constant in-game nagging and bugs. Scores:

V: 5/10
A: 8/10
G: 2/10

I got this game for free. . . Yup.

So I got this game for free, And YES I do agree with some of the ... whiny ass people in this cold dark reviews section of this remaster. But unlike them, I'm going to give you the REAL reason, I THINK you should not buy this game.

NOTE: All I'm going to say about the Content Club (CC) Is that, YES it is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but ♥♥♥♥ me, (Even though it is the worst thing they have done, and will impact my willingness to buy from this publisher again) Bethesda does not FORCE you to use it. Don't like it? don't use it. Simple. Want mods? Well, most of you got this for free. (Not all I understand, But you bought this so welcome to the ride) Just play the original version. It's great.

Now On to the ACTUAL review.

Graphics -
The best way to describe the updated graphics in this game is ... Eh. Honestly, I cannot think of a better word for the graphics. (♥♥♥♥ me in like one of the other reviewers that are here, Broken record) The Graphics can be much better improved in the unmastered version with mods. Yes the Graphics are updated, I cannot deny, and yes they are BETTER than the standalone Unmastered version, But not by far.

Gameplay -
Honestly, Nothing much to say here, you're paying for the unmastered version with a few graphical tweaks and all the DLC compiled in one game ... What more do you want? It doesn't add much ...

Uh .....

Wow, I honestly don't know anything more else to put, I see why a lot of reviewers rely on crying about CC ... They have LITTERY nothing else to whine about. It's an average remaster at best ...

4/10 on a good day.
