Not worth buying. I only own it because I preordered the deluxe edition like a dumbass.

Scholar is awful. I played 3 runs, lost every run on day 1 because his damage output and survivability is abyssmal, and promptly closed the game out of sheer disappointment, before realising I hadn't tried Undertaker yet.

The new shifting earth is genuinely painful. It's somehow simultaneously way too cramped and way too vertical. There's a massive pit in the centre that you WILL be forced to jump in to because there's like, 1 spectral hawk tree on 1 side of the pit. God forbid you're not near that tree, or you WILL be forced into the pit.

Scholar for sure needs a massive rework to be even remotely viable solo, and the new shifting earth is just not fun in any way. DLC needs a lot more time in the oven.

i REALLY wanna give HD2 a positive review, but the current issues with performance are inexcusable

the game itself is fun, and i do get pretty good framerates while fighting the bugs in general, but i'm forced to play on difficulty 5 or lower otherwise i drop down to 20 fps during a bug breach

the bots have freezing/crashing issues, but otherwise run fine frame-wise

the illuminate are perpetually un-optimised and buggy and i hate them

Unfortunately I had to drop the game almost immediately as the lack of a framerate cap meant that the game was utilising way too much of my GPU for no reason in the main menu, leading to my GPU quickly overheating. I was able to cap the framerate with the Nvidia Control Panel, but even then, the game ran very poorly in the hub, and slightly better during a run. Wait until some massive optimisation before buying. This isn't to say the game is inherently bad; all it needs is a touch-up.
