Amazing graphics, great story mode, fun co-op and multiplayer.

It just needs more in gam content, like more multiplayer modes and maps, as well as co-op missions.

Helldivers 2 is a great game that gets better when playing with friends. A lot of games are described with "You really feel like you're x-character". Well, in this game, you really feel like you're an expendable pawn, used for your skills to commit heinous warcrimes that will leave you with terrible PTSD and sense of meaningless existence and guilt. All for the Glory of Super Earth.

8/10

I have loved most of Obisdians work, which makes this hurt even more. THe Outer Worlds is more or less a clone of Fallout: New Vegas, but falls short at every turn. The maps are uninspired, the enemy variety is abyssmal, characters are blocky and uninteresting and so on.

I bought this game for 30 euros and I can't say that it's worth that. Maybe 5-10 euros if you just want something to kill a few hours with.

This might be one of the best games ever made, but I can't really tell you why.

+ Great soundtrack, when it's playing?
+ Wonky movement that engages you in the game, without being annoying
+ Options to engage tasks differently for more enjoyment or diverse gameplay
+ Building infrastructure <3
+ Insane world and lore

- Too long cutscenes
- Weirdly paced
- A bit self-indulgent

Sadly this game is broken and 343 are way to slow with trying to fix it.

For about 3-4 months I've been unable to play the game as it chrashes in the first loading screen and after contact with 343 they said "well that sucks, we'll look at it in the future".

Sad to see Microsoft's most iconic franchise being treated like this.

After 25 hours of playing Generation Zero I can confidently say that this is not a great game. It’s been almost a year since the game was released and I myself didn't pick it up until february of 2020. However, this game is not finished, or at least, a very shallow experience. Basically Generation Zero is a looter-shooter with an open world, in which you fight robots. So why don’t I like it?

Let’s start this review with the good part, the co-op. The only reason I played it for the time I did was because of the co-op. I mostly played it with two of my friends and most of the time it worked fine from the technical standpoint. It had its hiccups and crashes but the worst of it was when my main character’s world was locked out of online play because the game thought I had lost connection with steam. After some troubleshooting the old ‘verify files’ solved the problem, even though no files needed to be validated. But back to the good part about co-op. Experiencing the world with a friend is great, running around exploring and shooting them dang robits, it’s kinda fun. Good part done, now let’s jump into the main parts of the game.

The world in Generation Zero is based in the Swedish archipelago during the 1980s and the details in the world are amazing, they truly cared about making the small communities feel ‘lived’ in. The most memorable detail I can remember is how on a sign showing the opening hours of a kiosk, someone changed an eight to a nine using a marker. If only they had put the same amount of work and love into the rest of the game. Sadly, a large part of the map feels empty.

The part of the game I dislike the most is the combat. And from here on out I’m might spoil some parts of the game so if you want to experience it for yourself you should stop reading here. The combat loop in GZ is bad. Real bad. The combat is based on hitting the critical part of the enemy, sometimes the gun, maybe the generator or the head. Now this would be great if there was more than 6 types of machines. Now you that have played the game might say that there are more and yes you could argue that there is, but not from a gameplay perspective. Once you’ve fought one machines, for example the Hunter, you know how to fight all of the ‘variants’ of them, from the low-level prototype to the high-level apocalypse class.

Another problem with the combat is that the game is unbalanced and inconsistent when it comes to the amount of enemies it throws at you. Sometimes you’ll see one random unit in the world and destroy it in less than two seconds and in response the game will spawn twenty new enemies from nowhere. At other times you’ll let a Seeker (a unit that calls for more machines to attack you) ring for a couple of minutes and no machines show up. This is the inconsistent part. The unbalanced part about the combat is that them dang robits require a stupid amount of bullets to destroy, even the small ones, which gets boring pretty fast. I could ramble about this for hours, so let’s just stop it here with a simple: the combat is boring and tedious.

The AI is kinda garbage. Different machines with different weapons don’t really co-operate. Let’s talk about the Hunter class again. They have a melee attack and a machine gun as default, but they have a special weapon for the different classes and I’ll talk about the military class with the sniper rifles. So let’s say you are fighting three of these thing, you’d think that one would use the sniper rifle, one would use the machine gun and one would hunt you down with the melee attack, but no. You’re more likely to see all of them use the same kind of attack than them using strategy.

With all this in mind, I find it weird that they released a story-DLC as well as some cosmetic ones, when the game is filled with flaws.

It gets a 2/5, it needs a lot of work, but there is a good, even a great, game in there somewhere.

What to say about Star Fetchers.

The atmosphere sucks you right in, neon overtones on a gray and damp background. A soundtrack that slaps so hard you'll think you just went 6 rounds vs Mike Tyson. The story, side characters and the world is interesting and full of satirical humor.

I'm looking forward to exploring more of this world.

9/10, Q was hard to reach.

If you like great story and world building, amazing graphics and a stone cold cool guy as the protaganist, why haven't you played Witcher 3: Wild Hunt? It's the best RPG (if not game) released in the 2010s.
