Its rare i write reviews for games nowadays but after just finishing this up i have to give my 2 cents on it...

Needy Streamer Overload is an Insanely captivating and thought provoking experience of the streamer culture seen though the eyes of a mental ill girl Ame-Chan with you the player (P-Chan) managing and trying to help her be a better person

That short summery is the best way i can explain whats happening without spoiling anything and its how i would recommend most people play this game but feel free to read on if that didn't sell you on the concept. Its about how much i knew of the game before buying and playing and i'd HIGHLY recommend you do the same...
Also I'd also like to add that this game felt too close to home for me since I've known 2 people in my life who have said or done some of the more outlandish things Ame does in this game, I've also dipped my toes in to streamer culture so this game hit all the right notes for me...

Ame-Chan
A lot of people make comparisons between DDLC and Needy Streamer personalty i didn't care for DDLC but this game on the other hand i'd say is one of the best uses of the "cute girl psychological horror" tropes, since the game only has 1 character that being Ame the player has a lot of time to connect with her and understand her problems, to sum up Ame is an impulsive, destructive, mentally ill, attention seeking, drug addicted and abused young adult who wants to become the top streamer on all of Meetube.
She streams though her alt persona of OMGAngelKawaii-Chan or KAngel for short who on the other hand is Bubbly, Kind, Cute And innocent, Its clear as day that she is only doing it for the fact that in Japan these tropes are much more popular.
You learn about all of this pretty quickly the game does not hide any red flags right out of the gate on day one you come to learn about most of her issues and view points and from then on you have 30 days to take her from a first time streamer to 1 million followers.

Gameplay
The game it self is a management game where you juggle 3 stats all relating to Ame Followers, Stress, Affection and Mental Darkness all of these stats have an impact on how the game plays out and most of the 27 endings are related to these and a lot of events will be new on repeat play-through due to your stats being different... Every action you do during the day matters to some extent due to the fact you only have 3 actions per day and the 3rd action is during the nighttime where you can stream or you can go off and do your own thing but then you take a large hit to your follower growth... A featured i'd like to note is that you can have up-to 3 save-slots and if you mess up you can easily revert 1, 2 or 7 days while this feature is super handy and makes the game much less grindy and slow paced like most visual novel type games but i do have one nitpick with it making your choices feel less impactful but that can be mitigated with self control...

Endings
Lastly i'd like to touch a bit on the endings so big spoiler warning ahead

There are NO happy endings in this game

The only endings are depressing and sad mediocre or just OKAY-ish - Also last warning before i spoil endings

There are about 5 endings that end in some kind of death either you or her dying including murder, jumping off roofs, throat silting while all of these endings are makes me personally uneasy the REAL scary sh*t for me is where she dilutes herself into thinking she is being stalked and that everyone knows where she lives hearing the doorbell ring...
On the other hand there are some more positive endings but most of them also include either breaking up with P-Chan or fulling giving up streaming but as stated before there is no "and they live happily ever after" endings

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is just as legendary of an experience as the original game! and you would be doing yourself a disservice to play it with any kind of spoilers!
Shoutouts to Cookie9 for an amazing ending!

It's so hard to say if I enjoy or HATED borderlands 2 VR ill give a TL:DR for all you lazy people out there (like me)

TL:DR
It's AMAZING to see the world of borderlands in VR but the combat, content and fun is missing.

Here is a little FYI so you know where I am coming from...
i am a hardcore borderlands 2 fan, over the years i have probably more then 500 hours over PS3, and my old steam account and this account... i also own all the borderlands games (tho not bl3) and even enjoy the dumb game that was Tales from BL with everything combined i think i have over 1000 hours in total and i'd say that's 1000 hours well spent since borderlands 2 and its DLC is number 2 on my list of favorite games of all time.
I said that I don't own borderlands 3 "Yet" as you know they got sucked up by epic and I was scared that the game won't turn out like dog poop (its fine i have nothing against it) still i want to own it on steam so ill probably wait till its released here.

REVIEW STARTS HERE
I will start with a short story...
Standing at the front gate of sanctuary looking up at the banner with the text "Join the resistance, fright back!"
while sanctuary is taking pot shots from helios that moment was amazing something that in my hundreds of hours of playtime never felt this good...

Now that's a really awesome moment but for the hour before and the 10 mins after this scene i was disappointed, GOD i was disappointed first thing is the hands feel like a lazy port your fingers don't move when you press buttons (i feel bad for index users) and they over all feel clunky. The best way to describe it is, it feels like you are awkwardly holding 2 blocks of wood that are awkwardly holding guns that shoot awkwardly...

Next you see that you get this tunnel vision when you move and to me that says lazy game design gearbox was too lazy to resize the world so you wonted feel motion sick, i my case i turned off ALL the tunnel effects since i have a lead belly and never really get motion sick from playing VR.

ALL the cutscenes STINK like borderlands 2 has this cut away to a cutscene when you meet a new boss, NPC almost all the time and in VR it RUINS the feel when you are just in a black room looking at a screen, almost the worst part was trying to use a telescope since it just takes you to the black room with a JPG on the screen.

Also WHY IN THE HOLY HELL DOES IT HAVE TO BE A NEW EXE FILE... What i mean is why do we need two borderlands 2’s in are steam library, you may think this is a dumb complainted but look at what it has done. We can't play with non VR players (or any other players in fact) you don't get ANY of the DLC even if you own the DLC for borderlands 2 and we don't even get to share are old save data to VR (And yes i did try to move my save game data to BL2VR but all that did was reset me back to claptrap with none of my fast travel stations unlocked)

SPEAKING OF CLAPTRAP i know tutorials are important but god why do they have to be voice acted by the new Claptrap, since now they are mixing the original claptrap voice actor “David Eddings” with the new ones so it just sounds wrong when Claptrap is just constantly switches voices.

In the TL:DR I said that the combat is wrong you may wonder “how can borderlands combat be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up?” Well here is why… So in borderlands and in many shooters in general devs add fake recoil to make the gun a bit harder to use and to try and make them more realistic but in VR it's REALLY hard to emulate recoil since nothing has any weight to it so it ends up being REALLY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HARD to use anything that has magazine and and a fire rate over 5 since the gun just bounces about.

Lastly WHY THE PRICE why does a game released in 2012 that cost 30 bucks and has even gone on sale for as low as 5 bucks have to be priced at 50 Euro like holy hell… I know VR ports can be hard/takes time but this does not feel like a well put together port nor does it feel like any love or care was put in to it still if it had all the problems fixed and made into a well crafted port I wouldn't mind it just being a DLC for the base game with a price of lets say 30 Euro.
