Frostpunk 2 is a solid game, but it shifts away from the core survival elements of the previous game. Instead of focusing on surviving the harsh cold, it's more about surviving internal conflicts and managing the challenges of growing a massive city. The game starts where the first one left off—what used to be the endgame is now the new beginning. Instead of constructing individual buildings, the emphasis is on creating districts and strategically planning their layout. While the experience is still engaging, it feels less personal and more about large-scale management

The first game was much more engaging with its individual citizens—I actually cared about the harrowing moral choices and their consequences. Moments like the desperate father searching for his daughter just before the storm hits really drew me in. In Frostpunk 2, there are very few instances where decisions felt as impactful. Most of the time, it's just about keeping factions happy or dealing with trust issues, which doesn't carry the same emotional weight.
