So, I don't normally write reviews for games, because, y'know, time, and lazy.

This game is really good.

The reason I'm writing a review, though, is that it's good in a way that isn't quite conventional. I've talked to some friends who played this game and they didn't really get it; they said things like "boring randomly-generated levels" and "endless hordes that you can never entirely kill".

And yeah, there's randomly-generated levels, which are not terribly exciting in their own right, and endless hordes.

But this game isn't *about* tight well-constructed levels that you can carefully clear one enemy at a time. This game is a roving wild firefight across hostile unexplored territory; a firefight that *you will lose*, over and over again, as you try to find tools and components to let you venture further into the unknown. It's about battling your way over terrain that is both somewhat familiar and just a little bit alien, trying to decide if you should try to clear out some of the monsters snapping at your heels or go just one room further, whichever one of those is more likely to get you *something* of value.

It took me a few hours to figure this out, and when I did, the game got a lot more fun. Then I beat it. Then I replayed it from scratch to get the other ending. But if I hadn't figured that out, I might've said the same things; that the game was dull and grindy.

It's not. It's pretty dang good.

Game's pretty dang good! I've played it a bunch with friends, and if you're looking for that classic bomb-slinging action, this is the place for you. Pick it up, grab a few controllers, and invite some friends over for an old-fashioned couch competitive free-for-all.

Excellent short-form roguelike. You should play this.
