i wish mods were a thing but the game without it is still addicting as hell and longlasting.
the story and lore is on point and is told in an indirect way. You can find lore and story related things if you Want to, its not like call of duty where youre told the story no matter what, you have to find it on your own allthough finding it is not hard. Replayability is Veery high (in my opinion) Especially if you enjoy base-building and exploring.
(if you dont like exploring and an indirect storytelling this game is most likely not for you)

absolutely not. the game lagged so hard while trying to find a server that i couldnt actually join anything. the best way to go about it is to press play and not look at server lists. controls are terrible and doing anything is a giant chore. and the loot? i couldnt find Any food or Any water in the expected locations. anything you know from the arma 2 dayz mod is tossed out here, as i literally didnt find any piece of loot at all in the stores or regular houses except clothes. i played on a server im pretty sure was completely empty

2023 update, i am now a server admin and developer for a friend, and the game is Much better. This game is mostly for gun/zombie/apocalypse enthusiasts as the game is super advanced and Super realistic, but enjoyable for us that like the challenge
Finding a good server is paramount to your experience however, as there are tons of garbage servers STILL with barely any lootspawn and no zombies so many years later rofl
