Sony suddenly scamming so many paying customers out of a game that they already payed for months ago, is not ok.
Arrowhead made a great game. it's a shame to see Sony ruin it for so many, by making their region locked service no longer optional.

Update:
Sony ♥♥♥♥♥♥ around and found out. Thank you Arrowhead for standing up to them with everyone! You've done amazing work with this game, and I'm always looking forward to seeing what comes next

Unfortunately the game is still set to unlisted in many countries. it has no reason to be, as the only reason for that change was because of not being able to use PSN. so until it is once again available for everyone, this review remains negative.

There are a lot of reviews talking about how the game is horrible, but I just don't see it.
Mostly I get the impression it's just because of the hate many Kickstarter projects often get in general.
And people made it very clear they wanted to hate the game before there was anything to even play.

so here's my review of the game itself.

I like the dash. it didn't really need to be usable an unlimited number of times before touching the ground, but unless you already know what's up ahead you probably shouldn't be spamming it anyway, just like you shouldn't spam jump dashes in a new level of Mega Man X. You could hurt yourself. Should be common sense.
If you are replaying the level however, you probably want to go through more quickly, and you'll know enough about the level to maybe take the risk, so it saves you time getting back through.
So far just trying to stay in the air hasn't granted many opportunities to skip over much. since you would still need to get higher up than the enemies first anyway. so most of the time, if you can get over an enemy, there would have been nothing stopping you from doing the same with a single dash jump in Mega Man X anyway.

As for how the dash effects combat, I also like it.. most of the time. it's nice to see combat require more thought than just spam your fire button (or charge attacks) while jumping up and down depending on how high up the enemy is. you learn how quickly you can weaken the target, and get in close before it becomes unstable, to absorb them as quickly as you can, and restore ammo for whatever weapon you were using.

Or if you don't like it, you can just keep shooting them to blow them up, and completely ignore the mechanic.

What i don't like about the mechanic, is mostly just in a situational problem. if there are small weak enemies hiding in a crate, and I blow it up with explosives, they are damaged enough to become unstable, but not enough to out right die, so unless I can see them through the explosion effects, I end up running into them and taking damage.
personally I feel unless there's a good reason for it, like it's a boss, or it still has ways to attack, an unstable enemy shouldn't hurt you just for touching you. but that's still a small problem at it's worst.

The absorb mechanic I find leads me to actually using my other weapons throughout the levels themselves, instead of saving them for bosses. since if you are careful about it, you can restore ammo faster than you use it.

The graphics while nothing amazing, don't really bother me, from what I've seen so far, everything seems to be fitting the game's established style.

The levels don't really stick out as better or worse than most Mega Man levels either.

As for the cons

It has a small number of bugs yes. but it also JUST came out, what game comes out bug free these days?

At the time of writing this, there is a bug that happens on very rare occasion, that makes you keep running for about a 3rd of a second after letting go of left or right.
This is the worst I've seen in the game for problems with controls, and I've been playing with an Xbox 360 controller.
Annoying when it happens, but pretty minor.

Another bug, is the boss Pyrogen seemed to have some strange and oddly large hit boxes for some of his attacks than it looked like he should have. so it made finding a way to avoid him harder than it should have been.

Those I'm sure are only temporary, and will be fixed in a later patch.

The first instant kill trap I encountered, you are meant to be warned about. but it triggered before the characters could finish telling me.
It probably should have had the first one trigger in a spot where you wouldn't be in the way, so you know what to and look out for.

The voice acting, is not that good. but look up Mega Man 8 and you'll see this is nothing new. I find mighty No. 9's to be an improvement actually :P

And lastly, there is a part where you have to grab onto the side of a moving platform and hang there to get past some spikes. I don't feel the grab is reliable enough for the limited time you have to grab that, since if you grab from too high, you automatically step onto the platform instead. it needs more work, before unforgiving sections like that should be put in. or maybe lock you out from out right climbing up for parts like that at least.

tl;dr

Over all, I feel it's a good game, it feels like a Mega Man game, just with some new ways to go about things. and I've been enjoying my time with it.
So if you're a fan of Mega Man, you'll probably like this game.
If you are don't like mega man, you probably won't like it.
And if you already hated it before it even came out, then nothing would change you're mind anyway.

Words cannot describe just how great of a game this is, without spoiling anything.
Just know there many good reasons it's rated so highly and left such a huge impact on those that have played it.

But please do yourself a favor, if you are looking for more info about the game before you buy, please just download the demo, and go into it blind, then go through it again differently.

The demo can be found on the creator's website, at http://undertale.com/
