With recent reward and changes it just drops in quality. by now you NEED to have premium to somehow make a profit. don't even bother with playing this game unless you are willing to spend money into it basically past 5.0 (so early mid game).
Its a shame they changed to this economy when they very well knew it would only result with people barely making a profit if they play for free

You can't go wrong with this game. Even for the full price you won't regret buying it and replaying the story.
It still works on current computers and might do so for a while longer. It is 12 years old, and still holds up story wise and even graphically.
If you only debate and aren't sure, just get it on sale when it costs like 2 to 3€. Most get a few games anyways, so throwing this in won't hurt your wallet and you get a good 20 hours playtime atleast

Right, After many years of this being out I finally played and finished it.
It's certainly not very long with the main story being about 15 Hours long (don't let my time fool you, i fooled around a lot with a friend in coop).
So if you have time on a lazy weekend, get it and you will be done by the time its monday. All in all i recommend it.

Tho a bit more elaborated.
The game starts out extremely slow. Missions are short, Sequences even shorter with around 2 to 3 missions a sequence. 12 Sequences in total.
As i said, the story itself starts out rather slow and a lot is kinda left in the open thats only really explained mid game really. (and at this note SPOILER WARNING)
Many things feel out of place and random. Like the random "Server crashes" that happen every 3 sequences or so. Or that some things are not fully explained to how one guy was really connected to the other.
Further the ending is rushed at best. If there was maybe one ending mission more it would have felt a lot better and maybe explained how Arno joined the Brotherhood again (which it is not). He just suddenly wears the Master Assassin clothes.

Also over time you will notice missing things in Cutscenes which just add to my point. Like the hidden Blade not appearing in the last cutscene (might just be because i wore one of the outfits (like probably everyone else))

All in all its worth to get on sale. If you have 1 or 2 or 3 friends that are curious aswell, it might be fun to get for the Coop experience which is certainly a lot longer (i hope).

Amazing game and an absolute classic. But with current versions on Win10 you might get softlocked and can't progress any further. (Like it happened to me)
Buy on sale.
Hopefully in the future there will be a properly optimized remaster.

Edit: Oh you wanna do one thing? remember to do all the 10 other things you have to do as a condition :)

you can spend a lot of time in this game before you even half way get to day 30.
If you survive longer you will still die to something like a bee or a frog when you simply walk past. or you forget to refill your fire at night and now can't find it and die to darkness
Either way, i think you will only starve maybe once or twice through the entire game

I recommend it. Great game and actually quite challenging on higher difficulties.

BUT, there are many errors i have experienced so far. When starting a race it suddenly kicked me into reverse for some reason, resulting in a disqualification.
Further the game crashes when i first start it, resulting in me needing to restart steam to get it to work properly. now it would be fine if the game actually closed properly. every time i close it, i need to restart steam in order to get the game fully closed. i don't understand why this happens, but it wouid be nice if this stopped happening finally

Something to know up front is that this game is NOT what it seems at first.
While it might feel simple at first (run around and smash ♥♥♥♥ up) its a lot more. there are tons of references that can be found, often small things you really wouldn't pay attention to.

So when playing take your time, find secret areas and figure out why they are there or what their meaning is.

With that the single player becomes incredibly fun

i only play with one group of friends once a week and i always have some great laughs with them and really enjoy my time

i recommend it for everyone, even for a europleb i can play very easily on the american server without any problems.

don't cut. as someone said before me, this should be your key essence for this game.

The track will actively try to kick you into the wall. so will the car. your codriver. literally everything involved in the process, yourself included

While you might think you are good in racing games (trust me, i did), this game will teach you just how wrong your thinking is.

why get it then? Probably a sense of love for pain to a certain degree. But despite everything it is still a great game that will bring many fun hours to come.

Also the group b is pure insanity and i love it

So the new Game in the Dirt series is out and my first thoughts were "this is going to be awesome". after i played the game my thoughts were "this game is better than everything i've ever played".
Still it is hard but this is what it makes awesome;)
