Helldivers 2 is introducing a requirement of linking your PSN account to the game, and there's a lot of weird information being surfaced and being talked about.

First off, there's community reps who are stating that this change makes banning people easier, and that it was Arrowhead's decision. I believe this to be completely untrue, as the act of banning people does not require a PSN account to be banned. The only way this would help with banning people, is by removing the need to ban through other means like Steam, and just focus on one platform through banning, which would be PSN. The issue is that they could've taken this approach by banning users based off of their database, as all online games like this have them, and it would be as trivial as ticking a "isBanned" variable within the database.

Second is that you cannot create PSN accounts in certain countries due to PSN not listing it as a possible place of residence, meaning that people who have purchased the game, and who have played the game and contributed to the overarching goal of HD2, are no longer able to play the game. This is borderline illegal, at least in my eyes, because they are quite literally stealing the game from you. The only way for you to play the game, if you're in one of the 100+ countries not recognised by PSN, is to state a fake place of residence which opens up your PSN account to being banned, as this has happened to multiple people already.

And lastly, I wanted to more or less spread what I believe is really happening. I believe that Sony is forcing Arrowhead (as stated by Spitz), however I don't think this is to "increase the number of users on PSN", or to bump up their numbers or anything like that. Ghost of Tsushima will be shipping with Playstation trophies you can gain on your PSN account, it's likely that Sony is attempting to pushh for more of their games that are on PC to require a PSN account, under the guise of beinng able to earn trophies, or in this case, to "make banning easier for the devs".

If I know Sony, then this is building up for a push to put PS+ on the PC to force PC players to pay for online if they want to play first party Sony games online.

As someone who's seen the greed of companies first hand, this genuinely makes the most sense out of anything else I've seen, and I don't see anyone talk about it. It's only speculation, however I would be surprised if they haven't done this by this time next year. It's important that as people who play games on the PC, that we push back against attempts like this, and make sure they never come to PC. Company greed will prevail if we let it.

Hopefully Arrowhead reverts this change and makes a stand to Sony.

Honestly? Really good game. Apparently playing it makes you scared of the transit system? If that's the case then uhh... I don't know man, that place gets dirty and there's loud people and the smell! Jeez Louis.

Some of the puzzles were pretty cool, I enjoyed the safe puzzle and a few others, but a majority of them kinda just sucked complete and utter ass. As people have pointed out in other reviews, the maze puzzle sucks and, in my opinion, the water navigation section sucks as well. I think that the monsters can be extremely unfair at times, I even had SCP-087-B spawn ONTOP of me which killed me instantly.

The atmosphere is ruined if you're in multiplayer, as the only spooks that are left are the death animation/screens or just seeing one of the monsters out of the corner of your eye and it chasing you. All the monsters mostly do the same thing, run up to you and hit you, with the only feedback being the red vignette around your screen, not even any screen shake or anything which makes it feel like it has no impact and never gave me any sense or urgency like how a game like Outlast does. Another thing that contributes to this is...

THE SPRINTING IS TERRIBLE, you can only sprint for 3 seconds before being limited to walking for 5 seconds until your bar nearly fills up again. The sprinting is too fast, causing me to pretty much ignore all that's around me, which isn't really what you want for a horror game because I can't take in the spooky atmosphere that you're trying to create. Plus the bar drains way too fast and the wait for it to recharge is quite annoying since often you'll find yourself looking at the enemy that's slapping you, which honestly removes all urgency because there's nothing you can do but back pedal and hope to break line of sight.

The AI is... bad as well, the main issue with them is that they can spot you from miles away and b-line directly to you unless it's SCP-087-B, aka the Smilers, in which case they'll just spawn right around a corner and instantly kill you when you go anywhere near them, how fun (:

Over all, for the money, I'd say buy Metal Gear Survive, you'll probably get more hours out of it for around the same price if you buy it on a key reseller website. Or even get Gmod where you can pretty much tailor make your very own backrooms experience. Until the dev fixes these very glaring issues, I'm not gonna recommend that people play this.

This game is fun with friends for an hour until you're all stuck in a loop of dying due to game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. If that's worth $5, then I 'unno what to tell you. This game has been a laugh at the best of times, the worst? Incredibly aggravating due to the multitude of issues that this game has (not being able to find your doors, instant death upon respawning due to Smilers, only telling us after navigating the water that we needed to complete the worst puzzle in the game, etc).

Don't buy this until the developer fixes the issues.

When you're shot in the chest with a shotgun, you don't survive. Your heart gets exploded out your chest or if you get shot in the face with a shotgun, your brains splatter everywhere, your consciousness is gone, YOU'RE DEAD! How the ♥♥♥♥ is that not comprehensible. If you're shot in the face with a shotgun, you're dead, you're gone, you don't come back. You don't survive it and continue shooting me, when I have armour and you don't!
