A very fun casual game, and a good way to spend your time if you've got a few minutes free. There's a surprising amount of depth for how straightforward the gameplay appears - learning how to quickly identify which rings you'll need to keep to survive versus which you can destroy for some extra points makes it feel like there's still other areas to grow outside of just the reaction time of attaching the wires to the rings.

This game has both a strong visual style and gameplay, combining a unique and striking aesthetics with fluid combat that allows for a variety of different play styles. The player has a lot of different options when it comes to combat, each with different light and heavy combos, special moves, and individual strengths that make all of them feel distinct, and being able to switch between two instantly, and with the addition of an extra ranged or defensive support for each, allows for a ton of different options to suit anyone's preference. While the art may seem messy, the level of contrast and clear shaping of silhouettes make it extremely clear who all the relevant characters are, and even when the screen gets busy, it still feels like you're understanding what's going on. There were time that I felt that even if I knew what was going to happen, there wasn't much I could do to prevent it. For example, there were times that I see an enemy prepare to attack, but would still get hit upon dodging away, although even with these cases it could probably be chalked up to over aggression and poor stamina management.

Story-wise, it is a bit complex. The themes and overall messages are pretty clear, but even after my second playthrough there are a lot of places that if you asked me what was happening I wouldn't be able to answer with a lot of confidence. Which, I think at least a little of that is intentional, because I think the developers wanted to explore how the scenarios were affecting the characters rather than focusing on what's happening. There are also some very long cutscenes in the post-game. Personally, I was invested, but I have a feeling that may bother some people, so ideally by the time you get there you're as into it as I was.

This game is AMAZING (that doesn't sound very professional...) very aesthetically and mechanically pleasing. Aesthetically (I already used that word...) Visually, pretty much everything in the game is clearly discernible, and the contrast between the dull colored environment and the bright colors of the characters and interact-able objects made a nice combination of perfect (that might be an exaggeration...) appealing visuals and aspects of the level that are vitally important, such as our protagonist, enemies, and mechanisms. The cutscenes were also interesting, especially at the end when (i might accidentally spoil something...) Mechanically the puzzles have a good difficultly curve, and throughout the game I felt challenged without feeling stuck, and the game does a good job of introducing mechanics before taking things to a higher level. The titular timeline (well, the title isn't actually Timeline...) timeline is an interesting mechanic, although sometimes it felt tedious to handle. For example, there are times when I needed to move at a very specific time to avoid multiple sight lines that needed precise placement of the timeline. However, most of those were during challonge (misspelled...) challenge runs, rather than when i was playing just to beat the level, so it's unlikely that sort of problem will occur in more casual playthroughs.

And interesting application of rougelite elements into the SUPERHOT. There is a good amount of progression in levels as the enemies have increasingly difficult elements. A good number of the upgrades are unique and allow for interesting combinations to open up tactics that weren't possible in previous incarnations. Frankly, the main criticism I have is that with the levels being a random selection of a premade set of maps, some levels started to feel a little samey. While I wouldn't say it was detrimental to my enjoyment, I could have always used more.

More levels, more weapons, more upgrades, More enemies, More Secrets, MORE CHALLENGES, MORE ACHIEVEMENTS, MORE SUPERHOT.

I like the game a lot.

In terms of gameplay and storyline, I think Dust has earned it's worth. It's an amazing game in my eyes, but sadly lacking much replayablility besides revisiting some areas to get extra stuff. There also isnt really any character customization. You can equip items, but your character will always be wearing the same stuff and using the same weapon. However, still a great game in my eyes.

If you're looking for a game like the first 2 bioshocks, this isn't for you. However, the gameplay was enjoyable and fun. The graphic are great, and Elizabeth isn't any damsel in distress. She can take care of herself and she can even assist you during the game.
