Significant improvement of PCARS 1 however, the lack of modability really limits the playability of the game. Graphics is nice, physics arent assetto corsa or iracing levels by any means but theyre acceptable. Sound is pretty good, overall enjoyable relaxed racing experience. Would recomend purchase when on sale

Review Update: I'm leaving in the original review because it should be known the state in which the game was released, however here is the review in its present state if you wish to know what you are receiving v.s. how it was originally presented

Bikes have been updated to current models so the game is now in fact the 2022 season. Additionally with the time played i have noted the updates to the physics. Braking has been improved to further mimic real life feel with turn in being affected by fork compression and weight transfer meaning brake modulation is even more important now. Added option for 355 mm front rotors in addition to 340 and 320. Rear ride height device is excelent, should have been implemented sooner, launching the bike now feels just like what you see, mitigates wheelies and bike pulls hard, I also like that the change in wheelbase is simulated and affects cornering when using the ride height device i.e. if you activate it while turning, the bike WILL understeer. They have added more customization features for the personal team leathers and bikes. Additionally each bike performs uniquely and you can really feel the difference between them, so certain bikes WILL favor certain riding styles more than others and I think thats honestly an excelent feature. There is also now an accademy available for the scrubs.
Overall, pretty decent update over 21.

Okay where to start...
Personally having over 1500 hours on GP21, this felt like a luke warm release.
Nothing Major has been updated so to summarize here is whats changed and what sucks

2009 Season is by far the best part of the game so far, good content plenty to do, only reason im somewhat happy with the game.
Biggest downfall.. 2021 BIKE MODELS!!
How do you release a "2022" itteration with 2021 bikes? Hoping they fix that by the time i finish the 09 season...

Excelent game, really rewarding when you put in the time to improve. Difficulty has the added benefit of weeding out the inept imbeciles. Good racing online, and the aforementioned difficulty means its hard for rammers to ruin a race.

So nice of them to release day 1 DLC

Revised at 200+ hours

Optimization has marginally improved with the latest patch and AI has been tweaked to be less aggressive. The game is far more enjoyable to play but further optimization can still be made. A lot of bugs still remain, for example some tires on some bikes still remain cold, all single rotor bikes have two rotors after brake upgrade, the second clipped and floating in the middle of the front rim.

Pros:
Revised and improved Physics (closer to MGP20, no longer riding on rails)
Graphics have had some improvement over Ride 3, would not say its equal to MGP20
Sound is MASSIVELY improved, bike sound feels authentic and enjoyable with the exception of a stuttering that sounds like TCS in the middle of the RPM range of every bike.

Endurance Racing
Improved personalization including minor suit customization
Improved bike quality

Cons:
Bugs, many bugs
Needs further optimization
Base content was severely reduced
Game was obviously released unfinished

Neutral:
Some players report difficulty playing career, If you are acustomed to MGP20 you should have no issue
Endurance races are 40 minutes with no rewind
Top speed and acceleration could use some tweaks relative to engine power
YZF R7 for whatever reason is not a legendary bike???

Further Update:
Game physics have been nerfed for the players suffering from lack of skill, has taken away a good part of the enjoyment of the game.

Shell Shock simulator

They finally got it right. So far very enjoyable. The physics have been updated and are far more involving. You cant ask for too much realism considering the best hardware for these games is a controller, but it does its job well to challenge you. Graphics are on point as they have been since they switched to UE4, with several improvements this year. I'd say this is the first milestone game i can recomend since they stopped making the SBK games.

Recomend

Runs great at 4k all the time for me but I have nothing near an average system, so as far as ive read others arent as fortunate. What i can say is the graphics have pros and cons compared to AC1. AC1 allowed for post proccessing filters to be switched allowing for more realistic color pallets and tonemaping. Unfotunately as good as the reflections and details are in ACC there is a certain foggyness to the image.
