it's an open-world soulslike that looks and plays as great as the trailers make it seem, if you like soulslikes or open world games then this is worth playing.

it definitely has some issues like performance, lack of accessibility options (eg colorblind mode), ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steam overlay is still totally unusable in it on either of my systems.
but it, is, amazing. unmissable. tremendous. awe inspiring. terrifying.

it's not just one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen, but the sheer scale and amount of content it has is almost beyond comprehension. Imagine the best dark souls game scaled up to the size of zelda breath of the wild,

I don't do reviews often, and I've had a long time to think about what I would write for Elden Ring. but my words of praise are still garbage compared to the experience I've had playing this. countless times I was left stunned and speechless, unable to believe that the game was so good.

if you have to wait for a sale to play it then wait for a sale, if you have to cheese a boss with gimmick build then cheese away. this game is worthy of being experienced.

I'm not very far into the game yet but so far gameplay-wise it's pretty much what you'd expect from the devs of mini metro and the trailers and screenshots. soothing music, simple clean and pretty aesthetics, and obviously pretty fun to play.

the reason my lazy ass is even bothering to write a review is because not only does the game _have_ colorblind mode, but when I asked about it on the forums I got a response from the devs and then they followed up that comment by deliberately showing off colorblind mode in their gameplay stream. turns out for me personally it wasn't even much of a deal but the fact that they care enough to add a colorblind mode and then show it off is worthy of my purchase and respect

what to say about this game, I had crazy high expectations for this before going in since it's from Furi devs, it looks ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gorgeous and the soundtrack is killer.
but the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ interactions between the couple are so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sweet omg, the dialogue is actually making me feel emotions, the sort of emotions you humans have,
I intentionally avoided learning more about this game before playing so I had no idea that the world was going to feel so big and open. it feels like I can do whatever I want and I know I've barely touched the game yet so that could go either way but damn.
I was expecting the moon from this and so far it has only surpassed my expectations.

you can and probably will beat the story within an hour, so buy it and beat it, if you don't enjoy it then refund it.

but I _love_ this game, one of my favourite releases this year, if it wasn't for Sekiro this might actually be #1 in my books, it is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ journey, you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll be singing along in no time.
I legit didn't even buy this game for myself to begin with, I bought it on the switch because I thought my nieces might like to play it, but I had to try it out first. by the time I reached "Begin Again" I was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sold.

I would try to actually explain the game but I'm not good at words so just watch the trailer. the game is as mad as it looks

let's pop

I don't even have the words to describe how magnificent Nier is. best game of the year without a doubt, and the first game in years that I've 100% completed, then gone back to and 100% completed again just for fun and to let the game delete my save so I can play it again after that.
what other game let's you fight the square enix ceo, or is so good that it can get away with locking the majority of the story content behind completing the 2nd playthrough, or has 27 unique endings.
buy it, play it, complete it
edit: had to edit a review to unlock steam award task thing

2 months later Edit: still no fixes to the game, it's in a bundle now though so more people can buy this broken and terrible game

Edit: the dev responded to my review and actually seems to care (unlike with most games), so my opinions expressed below may change if they update the game, if so I will re-play the game again and update my review

I'm really not sure what I was expecting from this, a very bad ripoff I guess.
yet I was still let down.
it controls horribly, almost unplayable with a mouse (the only control option on pc)
it has built in advertisements for games on the app store
just terrible, I really hope nobody else buys this
