I rarely send friend requests to anyone, so it's most likely that you have sent me a friend request. Therefore I expect you to start conversation with me until I know you better. Do not add me then proceed to unfriend me saying "We didn't talk", or complain when I unfriend you. I didn't go out of my way to add you so I'm not going out of my way to talk to you. I'm sorry if this seems overly harsh but i'm trying to stop a reoccurring problem.
