I need to state that I have both Original games and played them for more than 300h total. Add to that the time I played both Redux games on both the Xbox One and on Steam and you have quite the playtime.

I do recommend this game of course. I really do enjoy what it has to offer, but my complaints are mostly similar to those of the first Redux when you experienced the Original versions, but here in Last Light Redux it is not as big of a difference compared to the original than it was the case with Metro 2033 Redux vs Original.

The biggest issue is the lighting. Same as 2033 Redux (same engine this time on both games) - everything has much more colors and is a lot brighter and kills the thick atmosphere and hopelessness that the originals were going for.
What iritates me is the models and voice acting of children. Some models were improved or changed a bit but when it comes to the bonus missions - those were last minute addons before, but now they feel cheap even if we take into account the miniscule changes to make them feel better. Some of the problems include the same hand models while playing first person and the same watch.

When it comes to gameplay - the gunfights vs monsters are a huge miss compared to the original 2033 but this is mostly a Last Light issue regardless. It is just exponated even more on Redux.
Looking at your watch was removed in this game for some dumb reason. It was useful for Ranger Hardcore runs to see how much time you have on a filter. Now it kills immersion whenever you look because it opens the menu with the weapon wheel.

The game is great, mind you. Even with all its issues and glitches I still love them all. It is just that the Redux versions were made to be flashy and were aiming for the new consoles for a quick buck and were not given the care or time that was given to the original two games. Both redux games are just the same game with different story and maybe a few weapons. Everything else is the same. So If possible, look up the Originals and try those out just to compare with the new versions.

Agreat addition to the story of the previous game "Find Yourself". It follows the main antagonist of the previous game and shows us his side of the story.
The biggest difference and issue this game has is the back and forth segments that have areas sepparated by a short loading screen. An inventory would be good for pictures and items at least to know what you have on you. And the biggest of all is the problem with the "stealth"/"chase" sequence. It is as glitchy as in the first game.

Other than that each one of EMIKA_GAMES games improves upon the last game and here is no exception (other than the chase sequence). The lighting and scares are a lot better and the atmosphere is as thich as ever.
Also the ending soundtrack is great, I really like it.

Never skip credits in EMIKAs games.

I really love the names of the characters in the game. Especially the Main Characters surname lmao.
Hope to see more games from the Serbian developer :)

"You owe yourself to try this masterpiece, at least in the form of Redux." Is what I said on my original Metro 2033 review.

Even though this game has better graphics than the original Metro 2033 and is more polished I still prefer the old game over this one by miles. It uses the same engine and physics as Metro Last Light and that changes the gunplay and feel of the original. Last light is somewhat meant to be more of an action game than Metro 2033, so It feels off trying to play it that way. I will just give my thoughts on what I consider are issues in the game.

The biggest issue I have is that this engine has weird enemy flinching and movement when you shoot them. It is wonky as hell and mutants seem to be able to move and jump at insane speeds which reveals their scripted nature and simple AI. Something that wasn't that obvious in the original since this was prevalent only in Last Light.

My second bigges issue is the lighting. Yes it is improved but due to the focus being on graphics they went overboard with making everything "shiny". Gone is the dark shades and poorly lit up areas and now we have bright white and blue everywhere. It is not bad per se, but compared to the original it loses a lot of the magic and atmosphere. Now some areas look more detailed and are better illuminated to show those details, but that removes all immagination on the size/scale and scope of things. As such some areas seem a lot smaller and less "scary". You will not be afraid of the dark here, as it is too bright.

Other issues are related to the changes in voice acting and the models themselves. They were changed to resemble Last Light instead of being faithful to the original.

What is good is that some segments are a little larger/more open (new rooms for exploration). They added spider areas in here as well for some odd reason.

You can boil it down to this game being a Metro 2033 mod for Last Light... thats pretty much it.

I love this game and I only put my criticism in here mostly because my full review of the original is much more personal and I don't want to repeat myself here that much. So i'll just leave a part of that review here.

Graphics and design-wise this game is not something you should try while drunk or on drugs or weed haha.

This is a unique experience. It has great atmosphere and it feels like an art piece, especially if you stop and enjoy the environments. It becomes even more obvious this is an art piece than a simple "weird and difficult puzzle game" when you watch the ending.

There are a lot of combination of endings in this game based on the number of "missions" you completed and it even has a secret ending coupled with a huge number of secret passages trough levels.

This is a well packed game that is thoroughly thought through and designed by a lot of care. Such an experience is something I recommend to anyone that likes puzzles or abstract visuals.

The game is quite short compared to the original but it is still Ghost Recon. So you are pretty much getting a solid tactical shooter with good level design.
But the maps are really small and due to AI being simple they shoot you trough bushes a lot. That is quite frustrating and you will experience it quite a few times throughout your playtrough.

The story is more of the same cringe "Freedumb and Democrazy" (American wet dream about Cuba) propaganda that Tom Clancy is known for. Already talked about that in Ghost Recon Review.

It is good, but just get the base game since I don't really think this one is worth it unless you are a huge fan of the originals gameplay.

You get a timer and have to sprint to finish the game where basically one bullet killes your soldier.
Somebody tried making an Action movie segment in this game... Just makes no sense.

Good game by Emika. You can easily notice his style and story structure. It is noticeable in every single one of his games - you find out almost all of the insanity at the end of the game or in the later part, but first you have to scratch your head a bit until it makes sense,
It is very noticeable that this is his first game since it is a lot more confusing than later games that I've played thus far. It has great atmosphere and quite a few scares but the story left me feeling kind of confused and had to look at the authors explanation just to piece together all the parts correctly.
Still, was enjoyable due to it being short and not overstaying its welcome.

Solid start and there is a lot to do here. But needs some quality of life improvements like an option for more tips or help when you don't know what to do. And a menu or explanation about race restarts and quits.

Another good horror game by Emika_Games. This short horror is a little more ambiguous and a little confusing at times but still a good game.
