The game is good, but hollow. Try the demo if you're interested, last I checked it's identical to the main game. If you like it, why not buy the game and toss in a few bucks to help out the devs? They do good work and the game, for all it's flaws, will keep you coming back. It keeps me coming back, for sure.

VA-11 Hall-A Is a game that aims to showcase a world set in a cyberpunk dystopia - with a twist. You're not a government toppling hero bent on saving the world. You're a bartender.

The strange premise and clear visual promise is what piqued my interest, and I'm glad it did. I've binged the game for about a week, and In a few months I'll be happy to go back and play it again. The characters are detailed, the music is absolutely phenomenal (I've been listening to it all the time, even out of game!) and you really get a feel for the dystopia, although you don't get to walk around the city yourself in any detailed way. If you think the game is interesting, you should buy it and give it a shot.

The game plays a lot like a visual novel with a drink mixing minigame interspersed throughout, but the activity very much improves the experience. Depending on how attentive you are, you could earn more money, and up to 6 different endings. You'll struggle to make ends meet, and you'll worry about the other characters. That mess-up you made will make you worry about your rent. The story is fantastic enough to not spoil, so I'll refrain from talking about it

This game focuses on characterization and tone, an area with which it greatly succeeds. If you like strong characterization and gameplay that makes you feel involved with the people around you, this will be a very enjoyable experience.
