Early Access Review
ULTRAKILL has one of the best movement systems out of any FPS ive played in my life. The best part of it for me is that the game doesnt tell you how to do cool tech, you gotta figure it out on your own through practice or experimenting. The weapons system is also one of the strongest aspects of ULTRAKILL with weapons having really cool synergies that also reward player creativity.

Short but sweet. The mechanics are simple and satisfying making the game very fluid and smooth. The style, designs of the characters, the world and the environments are excellent. The endless mode is a very nice touch giving the game replayability. I also liked the overall concept of the game and the hidden story aspects of it as well. Overall good game, I'm excited to see new projects from the developer!

Disillusion is a game worth experiencing.

Disillusion is one of those games you know you'll love just by looking at the store page. If you like what you see in terms of screenshots and the trailer, chances are it will definitely be an enjoyable experience. The game is well worth your time and following the story and experience this surreal, and sometimes unsettling world, will have you thinking about the themes and overall story of this game for quite some time even after completing it.

The gameplay:

The gameplay of disillusion is mostly reminiscent of older dungeon crawler games mixed with RPG elements and simple turn-based combat. There are a few enemy encounters in the game that are a bit more challenging but overall it's nothing that you won't be able to handle. Where the game really shines are the unique visuals, I'm sure the comparison with LSD Dream Emulator has been made dozens of times by other people. Disillusion is one of those games that is best experienced going in completely blind, it may not seem like it but the game can get really deep and philosophical at some points, but it is also filled with great humor and comedic relief.

The world of Disillusion.

I feel like I have to take some time to discuss the world this game has done an excellent job at building. This section is bound to have mild spoilers. If you wanna experience the game fully this is your spoiler warning.

At the start of Disillusion you will be confused, you're thrown into this mysterious world not even knowing who, or what you really are. You know one thing though, you will climb the tower, everyone does. We get some information as to who we are soon enough as we're introduced to Mel, a muse and our companion through this journey. Our character is a Golem and only we can see Mel. It won't take long for you to realise that Golem seems to be different from most others who climb the tower. What makes Golem so different? What is at the top of the tower? What even is the tower, what is it's purpose? All of these questions have answers but you will have to look for them, most answers are not readily available but are told in bits and pieces making figuring out the story of Disillusion incredibly satisfying. Although it may seem complicated to follow, trust me, it isn't too hard to see the story and put together the pieces of the puzzle, I encourage you to find the pieces for yourself and don't overlook any details, it is worth it, the story is very satisfying and incredibly philosophical and spiritual.

Help your followers reach the stars!
I don't usually play games like this but something drew me to this one, not gonna lie. I have to say I am very happy that I gave this game a chance. It is by no means perfect, in fact I encountered quite a few bugs in my playthrough, but I don't really mind them because I like many of the other aspects of this game. Essentially The Universim is a Colony Sim with elements of it being a God Sim, although the God Sim elements are kind of lacking in the beginning stages of the game. I really like the art style of this game something about it is just striking to me, the environments and the fact that the map is a planet you can leave later on when you progress enough really really reminds me of Spore.

First the good. I really like the architecture for each era your Nuggets reach! Really adds to the sense of progression and adds quite a bit to personality. I also really like the silly little requests your followers can sometimes give you such as gathering seeds or finding their lost kids. Later on the game really shows the God Sim side of things with fun powers you can use, which leads to an issue for me personally. To use powers you need points and these points are sometimes obnoxious because they really take quite some time to be earned, earning them is passive but you can boost your production by just being a good leader. The thing is, early on it is really obnoxious needing to do something but not having the points to do it, the game really wants to make you feel like the creator of this universe yet limits you so much. I think the game would greatly benefit from letting the player have fun in this world they create. Also sometimes it can feel like the game is punishing you for having fun with the creator powers, but then again this is just my personal opinion.

It should also be mentioned that some aspects of the game feel oddly empty... Now this could all be fixed with some updates and I believe the developers will continue to support this game to make it reach its full potential.

Simple but effective!
This game is like a nice little treat you buy yourself after having a long day. I recommend it, but it is a game that I feel is best played for the times you might be waiting for a friend and don't have anything to do in the meanwhile, or maybe when you don't have a lot of time left on the computer and don't want to begin a session of a game that might take up more of your time, or maybe you're looking to waste 30 minutes while something else downloads. Keep all of this in mind if you're thinking about this.

With that being said, holy cow does this game do a good job at sucking you into it, the movement, the guns, the enemies, the sheer amount of chaos onscreen in the later levels, it's all so amazing. For such a cheap price, I think it is a game you should add to your library. What you see is what you get, but there is just something so satisfying when landing headshots while sliding down long hallways that no other game has managed to replicate. Another HUGE plus for this game in my eyes is that it respects your time, no time wasted on overly complicated menus, tedious tutorials, or obnoxious parkour levels, just pure run and gun fun!

A horror classic that will engage you like no other horror!
A true classic which will be hard to review as revealing too much information would ruin the surprises this game has in store for players! IMSCARED is really a pioneer when it comes to games that break the 4th wall and make the player think outside the box. The way the story is told lets the player draw their own interpretations for certain aspects of the game. Where this game is strongest is in the way that it engages the player by forcing them to use unconventional methods to progress the story. This has a huge impact on the player experience as it give everything you do a real feel to it, you earn the story and progression through your actions, making everything you do more impactful makes the game scarier as well, like I said there is a "real" feel to it all. Making the player do all this makes them much more engaged in the narrative and themes of the game. For me personally, after I reached 100% completion, I was left craving for more IMSCARED, more of its characters, its atmosphere, its effective scares, and mostly its 4th wall breaking elements.

Light spoilers ahead!

The main antagonist of the game is a very, very complex character and it can be difficult to understand its motives and goals at times as it is made very clear the title of the game applies to it, the entity within the game. The more I played and the closer I got to the end the more I wanted to learn about the antagonist, how did it end up here? What it was before it became what we know it as? And how does it feel towards the player?

Overall it is a horror experience you won't find anywhere else, a must play classic in my book.

PS:There is a point in the game where you have to change the time and date on your computer, however if you use the 24-hour, like I do, it might confuse you since the game uses a 12-hour AM and PM system, but even then it never specifies if you should set your time to AM or PM so just keep that in mind!

A great horror game with very good visuals.

The game has a couple of gamemodes, each with it's own gimmick. The main gamemode being kind of like a pacman horror game where you have to collect a certain number of collectibles in a maze-like map while a monster lurks around the maze with you. What really makes this unique is that the monster isn't constantly chasing you, it's actively looking for you and will only give chase once it manages to successfully sneak up on you, which doesn't seem like a big deal but it is such a good mechanic that I believe makes the horror in this game genuinely some of the most effective horror in gaming.

Notice how I said it begins chasing when it sneaks up on you? Well if you're quick enough you can scare it away with your flashlight which builds up so much extra tension while walking through the seemingly identical halls of the maze.

The other gamemodes I think you should genuinely experience for yourself as they are very unique and genuinely such fresh ideas that it is 100% recommended you go into it completely blind.

For those who want to know more about the other gamemodes:
  • Shutter mode: Functions the same as the classic mode with the same enemy chasing you, only difference is instead of a flashlight you only get a camera.
  • Hide and Seek: The mode everyone praises! You start out as the "seeker" and have to collect the orbs like in all the other gamemodes, the thing is the monster in this gamemode is hidden somewhere on the map, it blends in extremely well with the map textures. If you find it, it will now be the "seeker" you must hide in time and in a good spot so the mosnster does not find you. After a timer the cycle repeats.
  • Living Walls: The gamemode that made me the most anxious while playing. You start in a bunker, there are bunkers throughout the map which are essentially safe zones. On your wrist you have a radar it tells you how much time you have until bunkers close and if you are near to a monster. The thing is, the monsters are the walls, they've disguised themselves and will attack you if you approach them. Failing to make it to a bunker before it closes means the monsters will begin hunting you.
  • The Phantom: An invisible monster that can only be detected when it passes by furniture as it will push the furniture around. Just as the monster is invisible to you, so are you to the monster. It won't see you but it will hear you and find you if it sees you move furniture. You have to setup traps that can stop the monster temporarily and help you detect it.

A very fun and simple fishing game!

No overly complicated fishing mechanics or any annoying gimmicks, it's just plain fishing and I love it! Mysteries Under Lake Ophelia has a very good art style, but also an oddly eerie atmosphere to it that makes you feel as if something isn't quite right or as if you're missing something, and I think this is exactly the atmosphere the game is trying to set up and it succeeds at it. At first glance and judging by the name you might think this game features some horror elements, but in reality it really doesn't feature any traditional "horror". Instead the horror is introduced only if the player seeks it out. It is cheap so I suggest this, if you like the style and look of it from the screenshots and trailer, then please do try it as it really is a great game.

The name of the game is no lie! There really are some mysteries under Lake Ophelia! I won't spoil anything in this review in the case you want to see for yourself but you are sure to be intrigued by the mystery that is unfolding as you play the game. There are also some collectibles for you to find, and achievement hunting is always fun!

There is really only one detail I find confusing in this game and that is the mechanic of meals and cooking. I feel as if it isn't explained well enough for you to understand how to properly cook and what effects eating cooked meals has, but that is honestly not a big deal at all and it does not take away from the enjoyment of this game.

Dead Estate is honestly such a cool game I love it. It definitively is not a game for everyone but I can guarantee if you like The Binding of Isaac there is a 95% chance you will like this game as well. Dead Estate is essentially a roguelike with controls similar to twin stick shooters with subtle elements of bullet hell occasionally (some boss fights get very chaotic). The controls are nice but I have to admit it takes some getting used to the camera angle and the jumping in this game. You can see from all the screenshots the camera angle is quite strange but honestly most of the time it works in the favor of the game and makes certain elements in the environment and level design more lively making them "pop out" more.

What really reeled me in to this game were probably the characters, the moment a game has characters you have to unlock in unique ways I get hooked, kind of like Risk of Rain 2 or like I mentioned The Binding of Isaac. Each character is unique and offers a new way to approach the game . Alongside the characters there is a wide selection of weapons you can use that are pretty unique and fun. Perhaps the most important aspects of this game are the items and shops, shops are used to get upgrades or things like healing items and ammo, and items are found either in said shops or in rooms throughout the game and each item modifies your run in some way, ensuring this game has loads of replayability and stays fresh for a while.

Another thing I want to mention is the achievements, if you like hunting for achievements then this game should be pretty fun for that as well! The boss fights though are either hit or miss honestly, some bosses feel out of place with strange gimmicky mechanics that get annoying once you're getting started out, but after sinking some hours in the game you'll find the bosses won't be much trouble either!

Overall a 7.5/10 for me a very good game for the price, 100% worth it.
