I received Shaykh Mahmud's letter and I had requested from him
the nomination of a deputy for him. Thus, he nominated a number
of Brothers and you were on the top of the list. However, he
would prefer that you not busy yourself with administrative
duties and that you [remain] dedicated to the duties of the
Shari'ah Council. I believe his opinion to be just, especially
after receiving the letters from Somalia and their pressing
requirements for Shari'ah consultation.
It is not overlooked that you have the greatest of
responsibilities cast upon all of our shoulders, Insha'Allah.
