Bought this way back when the alpha first game out, back then it was a fun distraction with more content on the horizon.


Now it's just a husk of its former self. It actively discourages exploration and the dev has got to be one of the worst solo devs in the communication department I've ever seen, he always disappears just long enough to make you think he's either died or took the money and ran, only to make a small post that can be summarized as "Yep, still working on the game" only to fade back into the void for god knows how long.

This game is like having a deadbeat dad, you're only going to be disappointed and left wondering if things will ever be like they used to be.

Once I started playing through until about halfway through the game, I felt like I was forcing myself to press on and finish the game. But once I took a stop back and looked at the game for what it was, an outdated game.

I really had to keep an open mind from then on, and keep my expectations low, only then did I find myself enjoying it. If you're wanting to play through the series, this is a great place to start as it will make the other two games not only make more sense but also make them seem more grand and improved as they go along.

If you're only wanting to play the first game that's a flat out bad idea, this game is only worth it nowadays if you want to experience all of the source material as a whole.
