I can't recommend this game anymore, maybe back in 2010 when things were bright and servers were full and not loaded full of toxic people. Sure you had toxcicity, but it wasnt to the point of disgust.

Most game modes you see on youtube from way back then are now long since dead and lost within the cloud of ♥♥♥♥. DarkRP is garbage and carries pest like people who will leech and drain you. Most servers lock fun things behind extremely overpriced paywalls and have corrupt staff. The best experience in garry's mod currently is sadly the singleplayer. Nobody is going to prop push your contraption you worked hard on and break it. Nobody's going to crash the server with malicious intent. you wont be gang bullied out of a server just because you killed them. Peaceful building and playing around in your own thoughts. If you truly want an experience worth playing, go play games that arent this. Leave it to die out much like its competitors. It's cool if you're an edgy pre teen,but once you realize that its the same repetitive thing over and over day after day it becomes a job. believe me there was a time where Gmod was thriving and was fun to play around with, when garry'smod org was a thing and workshop didnt exist. Gmod tower was the center point of garry'smod at the time and game modes like space build and fortwars and rollermine soccer were still much alive and had many players dedicated to playing actually wanting to play because it was fun. It wasnt grindy, it wasnt paywalled, it wasnt as toxic as a hillybilly septic tank and it was sure as hell addicting. Now you can't join a server without being bombarded with toxic players forcing you to leave to hopefully hop to another server you can finally play on without being patronized for living.


After 7000+ hours I really have to say that its not worth the money, its not worth playing as much as it pains me to say those things about a very beloved game I used to enjoy its sadly the only conclusion I can come up with. I hope that if you do go on to get the game that you enjoy it as much as I did back when it was in its prime golden age, and if you've actually read this far thank you for your time.
