*Had one of my men throw a mimicing beacon.
*An enemy unit killed the hologram created by said mimicing beacon.
*A sectoid resurrected said dead hologram into some twisted hologram zombie of death.
*The hologram zombie killed the unit whom first threw the beacon.

Epic game, 10/10

For real though. This game is amazing in my opinion. Improves in pretty much every possible way from it's predecessor; XCOM: Enemy Unknown. The new stealth system is really good although i wish it'd been implemented over a larger portion of the mission types since, at least from my experience, i find myself sometimes having to carefully move my units across the maps at a very slow pace not to accidentally engage a previously offscreen group of aliens. This is even more the case when engaged in combat already. Activating too many groups of aliens can easily lead to disaster and you sometimes get those "nope" moments in which you try flanking your opponent with one of your units when said unit all of a sudden gets spotted by a giant group of enemies that instantly turn the battle around. Another "quarrel" several people seem to have with this game is the fact that the mission timers are sometimes brutally short which result in huge difficulty spikes on certain missions. To which i'd argue that: these mission timers also add another interesting factor to a map in "a lack of time" which often forces you to make daring maneuvers you'd not dare to make if time wasn't of the essence (stops you from acting like a damn turtle).

I noticed some of the people posting negative reviews for this game are currently stating how "i haven't got a problem with difficulty but..." and proceed to indirectly argue that the game is too difficult by complaining about the mission timers as a whole (as i said, i partially agree with this in how the mission timers sometime cause massive difficulty spikes and feel out of place) or how "the percentage chance shown for hitting a target isn't real" (what?(Gaben-please-confirm)). Two 95% shots missed in a row is unlikely but possible and can, admittedly, cause a large portion of salt to appear "within thyself". So you'll have to ask yourself this; Is the potential temporary rage and feeling of despair resulting from RNG as your units miss easy shots (etc) worth it for the payoff of that great "F***YEAH" you scream out as you get that hair trigger bonus at just the right time and turn the battle around? Is it worth it for all those satisfactory moments in which your planned strategy all works out just as planned? I'd answer with a definite yes.

Although i'd say this review was the opposite of throrough as i failed to cover most topics that a proper review should cover, i only wished to share my given opinion on some of the common issues people seem to be having with this game. However, i'll give you this; This game definitely delivers what a sequel should. It adds more positive aspects than negative ones and i'd say it has surpassed and developed on the overall quality of the gameplay when seen in context to XCOM:Enemy Unknown.

Great game, even though that "hologram zombie freak'o-nature" killed my unit.
