Early Access Review
It should be noted that I am playing this game on Steam Deck, so I appreciate that the 'Call of Duty' controller layout has allowed me to jump into the game quickly.
This is early access but even at this stage I feel that there is enough here to keep me coming back and the inclusion of AI teammates is fantastic. They are useful, automatically take up good firing positions and respond to commands well. I have had one instance of the AI getting stuck but they did eventually get unstuck.
The missions are procedurally generated for replayability and simulate the scope of real combat missions well, such as escorting a tank or eliminating enemy mortar positions.
The sounds and atmosphere are amazing and things do get very tense, especially if you make a mistake and get yourself surrounded. One thing I would like to see though, is the radio chatter continuing throughout the mission.
Overall, highly recommended. Looking forward to future updates.

Should be the greatest tennis game of all time but difficulty is broken. Amazing roster, amazing venues and presentation but the game is laughably easy on easy difficulty and impossible on medium. Devs added custom difficulty sliders without any kind of explanation as to how they work. Does lowering the value make it easier or harder? Some descriptions seem to suggest that a lower value would be easier for the player whilst others make it seem that a higher value would be more beneficial. The main problem with the difficulty is that shots played with B always stay in but never beat the opponent even if they are high powered and they are at the opposite side of the court, whilst shots played with A are the the only way to win a point but 90% of the time they sail out. You end up losing every game due to unforced errors. This has been the same since early access.

UPDATED REVIEW: Firstly, the game is working flawlessly on Steam Deck. There are no crashes or glitches when using the latest version of Proton GE.
Most negative reviews on here are citing the state of the game on launch, which has now been fixed after the first patch. You should always take reviews claiming bad optimization with a grain of salt, however, as its down to everyone's own PC builds most of the time.
For those claiming that the option to unlock the frame rate isn't working, it is. This is a fighting game and the gameplay is always going to be locked at 60 FPS. The option simply unlocks the frame rates on the menus.

The game comes highly recommended in my opinion. Just avoid the ultimate edition or season pass for now, since it only contains around 4 characters which are currently estimated to release in 2026 (hopefully not). Also, for those of you that play ranked, be aware that some characters have the ability to resurrect and become even more powerful, so expect to face those characters in every match. Story mode, versus mode and mission mode are fantastic but expect the usual level of toxicity in ranked.

Sweet Baby Inc were involved in the production of this game. It makes no difference to the game whatsoever, however, it does piss off boomers, incels, right-wingers and those “alpha” males who manifest pure rage as they cannot forgive themselves for once accidentally finding a trans woman hot. So yeah, you should buy it!

As someone who first read the Romance of the Three Kingdoms in 2001 and has followed/played every ROTK related game since then, this should have been my favourite game of all time. This game however, is a total war game through and through and so it suffers from all the same tired tropes as all the other games in the series:
The AI cheats regardless of difficulty;
All neighbouring factions have full stacks within a few turns;
The AI is completely anti-player on all difficulties and will attack you regardless of your decisions;
Diplomacy is useless outside of trade agreements;
The campaign is unwinnable unless you use rush tactics, ie you need to be attacking a city/army every other turn;
The AI replenishes armies instantly even when they are surrounded and down to their last city;
You spend the first turn fighting a set battle as usual;
Building armies absolutely destroys your food supply meaning you won't be able to compete with the AI;
CA continue their anti-large faction crusade (player only of course) by continuing to fracture large factions into several smaller ones.

Game is unplayable for a lot of people.
The game repeatedly crashes at random intervals, on the menus, in the game, on start up etc.
Devs don't care and only recommend you use a beta version which means no multiplayer (which doesn't fix it by the way)
Abandoned mess, avoid.
