Hyper Knights Review

All my reviews are done after I have 100% the game (All the achievements). This does not delve into any dlc or additional content (Only the base game). This review format is used so potential buyers can quickly understand whether or not they want to buy this game but it is always advised to watch some gameplay before purchasing. For more reviews follow my cruator page Here

What do you do?
The main objective of the game is to become the king by capturing all the territories on the map. The map isn't particularly that large and each one is basically identical. You capture each territory by capturing all the villages, outposts and finally the castle. You basically rinse and repeat this with the added benefit of increased abilities as you progress, at about 1/3 of the game you can afford to get knights which can automate the act of capturing territories There is no story and the combat is mostly button mashing with the occasional ability spam when surrounded by enemies. Even though the game recommends a controller I much preferred the keyboard then the keyboard which felt clunky but that's probably because of my huge personal bias against controllers rather then it being the games fault.
Fun Factor
The game is fun at the start but quickly gets boring quickly as it's quite repetitive. The abilities don't really add much to the experience other than extremely short-term enjoyment. The game is frankly way to easy even for me and I find a lot of games harder then the average person would. This gets worse when you play new game + as you become even more overpowered giving you know challenge at all and kerbing nay fun you might be having.
Replayibility and HLTB
Game isn't that replayable as the map is identical even with New game + which arguably makes the game worse as you become even more overpowered with all your existing abilities maxed out practically making you unbeatable. The game should take you less than 15 hours to beat and get all the achievements in a relaxed fashion.
Technical Issues's
Only witnessed a few bugs. I only had one 'major' bug. Which was my character being stuck in a rock and being unable to restart the battle or get out meaning I had lost the battle because of this glitch, however, this only happened once out of the 50+ battles I had overall. The game isn't graphically demanding and should run on all modern day systems gaming or not. The only time I faced issues performance wise was the final few battles where I had amassed an army of around 800+ troops which tanked the fps quite hard.
Final Conclusion
It could be compared to Mount and Blade but with much less depth, no story, weaker combat and worse in pretty much every way. Honestly, I hate to hate on an indie game but it doesn't really offer anything that mount and blade does. For this price, you could get two copies of Mount and Blade Warband when it is on sale.
Final words to the developers
I think the developers have finished updating this game which is unfortunate but I will still list some improvements/suggestions. My first suggestion is for a larger variety of maps and environment. Secondly, different types of characters or classes as well as different kingdoms on the map instead of one singular entity. Thirdly, some sort of sea style combat. Finally, I would want the combat to be expanded by including different types of Armour/weapons that have a different type of stats.

Trash game developers ruined it. Developers are money hungry added microtransactions into a fully priced game, removed it from GOG for "reasons". Seriously is this freeware? The skins are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cancerous and the servers are more unstable than the streamers that stream this game. Trash as ♥♥♥♥ 0/10 and this is from someone who spent 200+ hours previously. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brain-dead devs don't spend your cash (hard-earned or not) on this pile of garbage. Removed it from steam perm through steam support that's how much I this.

"Ehh overhyped." Better than any Star Wars games released by EA.....Much better single player because it has ♥♥♥♥♥♥ content unlike Star Wars Battlefront II, but the game tends to get boring and super repetitive by the end of the game also the game crashed tons especially after the end of a level which would be super annoying. Would recommend this to someone who is looking for a game with remarkable saber combat & a nice online community.

Pros

-Great Light Sabers Combat System (Best I have ever known)

- Great Multiplayer Scene (Active community)

Cons

- Gets boring fast

- Horrible shooting mechanics

- Story is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥

ISPYPEPO'S SUPERHOT REVIEW

TLDR/Conclusion: 7/10
SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!

Superhot is a quirky new take on the fps genre with a time bending ability mixed in, the story breaks the fourth wall with you (the player) being in the game and playing Superhot through a dos like system, basically the mission is to eliminate all foes in each room using any weapon or object. You can steal objects from enemies by punching them, the art style is simple yet perfect. The gameplay is the strongest link in Superhot & the feeling of gratification when completing a level is never lost. While it offers a unique gameplay experience the story is lacking & very short hence why I would recommend this game if it is on sale as the retail price is quite high but don't let that deter you as this still is a great game.

What is SUPERHOT?
Superhot is a FPS puzzle shooter with a time bending ability. The basic premise of the game is to eliminate all the red figures in a room using weapons or objects. You are always outnumbered so running and gunning isn't an option or you will be killed instantly however enemies can only move if you are moving or doing an action like picking up an object ,This means that you can shoot three enemies at once if you are standing still , which evens out the odds considerable but it isn't as easy as you think because enemies are positioned all around ,they can also be behind cover or behind you! in addition to this enemies bullets still go somewhat fast when you are standing still so dodging them is a must and this where the "fun" is found to dodge incoming bullets while stealing enemy weapons and killing them with-it, while the game progresses the techniques in which you can eliminate an enemy is increased.

Graphics/Art style
Simple like a baby & will not age 7.5/10

As you can probably see from the store page pictures, the game looks rather simple however don't let that deceive unlike some other indie games the simplicity is well developed, it's sharp & could be compared to Mirror's edge catalyst. The main colours you will see in game are Red, White & Black even though there is a low use of the colour spectrum it still feels lifelike and vibrant (When you shoot an enemy the red shards fly out of the body oh so beautifully). After completing the level, you can watch a short replay of you completing the level in real time these are short and sweet.

Gameplay (Fun Factor)
New and intuitive design, Fun for all ages 8/10

If you read my introductory paragraph you would know that Superhot is a game based on eliminating overpowered enemies with your control of time being your advantage. It is off course a unique idea that has been used in games rarely, one thing that comes up to my mind is Dishonoured's Bend time ability where you can slow time (A little more overpowered). Even though the level can be completed in 10secs but it will take you much longer because you will need to stop time to be able to eliminate the red figures. One annoying thing is that red figures can respawn behind you and you have only a very short amount of time to kill them or you will be killed, this is especially true on harder levels however as you progress through the game you unlock new weapons like the katana but this are pretty redundant because they don't offer any real variation to killing the enemy however I love the ability to weaken any enemy by punching them and stealing their weapon and then murdering them with their own weapon that truly never gets old. Besides the fact that you are controlling time & feeling like an action hero when you see yourself in the replay clips in real time. Cons are if you want to have creative flexibility most of the levels have a set path to success and offer very limited or no alternate paths so memorization of where the enemy is needed which might suck if you’re not into that kind of suck it’s kind of a big CON .

Story
Weakest Link Still Present- 5/10

You are a hacker who received a crack of SUPERHOT from your friend and you begin to play it & slowly get addicted, after a little while the system gets irrated and tries to get you to leave, there is more but that is the basic premise that is all I can say, after that it is probably considered spoiler territory. The story is matrix like & is presented through a dos like system which can be very annoying, the sound in-between levels can be very irritating, It sounds like a untuned television (Not very pleasant). It is as if the developer tried too hard with the story to make it some psychological thriller however it is a break from the action which might be a good thing or a bad thing, the story is feels very short, indeed it only took me around 2 1/2 hours for me to complete and that is including the numerous deaths I have had. The story is defiantly the weakest point of the game however because the gameplay is the main factor in SUPERHOT it isn't as much of a problem as it would be in other games.

Early Access Review
Update: This review is extremely old and out of date, even at the current time of reviewing I hadn't reviewed the game fairly as I hadn't yet played it for a satisfactory amount of time, let alone finishing any kind of endgame therefore until I have time to play this game and complete it fully this will be the placeholder. One thing I have noted though is the developers' deep commitment to updating this game. It has been two years, and the game has been updated since then, and from my knowledge, this is a one-person team so praise should be there for the developer of this game also, pretty much every day since 2016 I have seen the developer on the game engine that created this game probably creating, updating or fixing stuff in this game.
